Haha, so now he's mine? Sheesh!

I'm just trying to point out that if a cashier rings you up wrong, it's not your fault. If you go in with the intention of making the cashier ring you up wrong, that's another story.

Well when you have the cashier price matching and coupon scanning you have the intention of ****ing up the cashier

So going into a store with the intentions of price matching something is now ripping them off?

Going into a store with a coupon for something is now ripping them off?

Just want to make sure I understand.

so , im a "scumbag" because i have the intelligence to understand circuit city's pricematch policy??? THEY MATCH LOW PRICES!!! so it was 38.20 minus 10 bucks because circuit city has a buy 2 get 10 off deal. that brought the price to 28.80. Then THERE SCANNER DIDNT WORK!!!!! So instead of reading the coupon like any intelligent person would do this "hardworker in retail" glances at the coupon, sees that it says $10 off blu ray and sees National treasure with the number 2 and decides that rather then take the 20 seconds to read it, she would rather assume that its $10 off 2 movies. That is her own fault, not mine. Also maybe if circuit city had a working scanner, this wouldnt of happened. lastly, i bought the monster wires becaus i needed longer wires anyway to run the surround sound, but he still should of let me return them!!!

You are not a scum bag, but you were dishonest by not pointing out the error. Had you pointed out the error and they still didn't care, then you would have been off the hook. Now if you can live with being dishonest, that's fine, its your own sin. I have no idea who the cashier is, but when I worked in retail you usually got two, maybe three chances when you screwed up like that. I'd hate to see someone lose a job though because I wanted to save $10. Often times they will still give you whatever they rang it up for, its too much work to charge you more and they want to keep you as a customer.

my god. you guys are unbelievable.

it seems like every month a new thread gets over-run by the wannabe moral police or something. dumb.

give it a rest. i cant imagine any of you that are bashing this guy are, and always have been, perfect angels yourselves. jesus. my guess is some of you guys have done far far worse than presenting a coupon to some cashier that didnt care enough to read the measly thing. i know i have. and to say that any one of you havent done a single dishonest thing in your life would be....well.....dumb.

so, please. stop being.....well......dumb.

"listen doc, first off its not my fault that the cashier didnt do here job....
secondly, dont question my honesty"
So you are blaming the cashier for you trying to (and getting away with) something dishonest. It's nobodys job but yours to be honest - so it's your specific actions that called it into question - not me.

circuit city ripped me off PLENTY of times. example: i asked the manager what was the best surround sound they had, i told him which bluray player i had and which plasma i had ( i physically pointed to them) and he told me to buy this 7.1 surround sound for 899.99. he then talks me in to buying monster cables for like 200 more. i get home , hook it up and IT DOESNT WORK!!! I went back the next day, told him and he got a specialist to help me, it turns out the surround sound that HE TOLD ME TO BUY IS NOT COMPATIBLE with my current set up. No big deal, i went to return it , only to have the same manager tell me that he couldnt return the monster cables because they were spliced!!!!! so that cost me around $200!!!! I would suggest that you do your own homework and don't rely on someone that is a SALESperson to tell you what to buy. I've spoken with MANY people here at the forum before making some key purchases and I've never regretted it. I'm sorry you were led astray. Also, If I buy a pair of jeans - cut some cool looking holes in the knees, then try to return them because they don't fit - I would not be surprised if they said I couldn't return a mangled product. Especially if they had been a $200 pair of jeans. By the way, I do agree that dishonest employees suck, but so do dishonest customers.

"so please dont act like im the devil." Never said you were, just said what you did was kinda crappy in my opinion.

" its not my responsibility to do someone elses job!!!!!" nobody does mine, and people try to rip me off all of the time" Congratulations - You rip people off too by your own admission. You'd gain more sympathy for getting ripped off if you didn't intentionally to try to rip people off too. When stores lose money, jobs are lost or prices go up. I'm sorry, but I can't get behind ripping off a store, just because you can. I just don't see the justice in that.

Not to be negative nancy but....

No one has called BS on this guy yet and given the sporadic re-releases of paramount blu-rays around the country most not getting them the first week, even Amazon and especially Sams club who only sells music blurays in my large metropolitan area, I am going to have to call a big BS on this especially at those prices.

Lets see a picture of the receipt.

(shrug) I'm comfortable being "dumb". Much more comfortable than if I was dishonest. I shouldn't be - but I guess I'm still surprised when someone tries to make a bad thing sound good.

so youre trying to tell me you've never mustered out one bad deed or dishonest act in your life?

thats my main gripe with everyone posting on this thread. everyone trys to come in here acting all holy angel on this dude getting an awesome deal on blu rays, all the while im sure 99% of these people have done worse things themselves.

give it a rest people.

news flash, YOURE NOT PERFECT EITHER.

so stop trying to act like you are.

I once stole a rubber ball from the corner convenience store when I was about 9. It was on the floor, I picked it up. After I left the store, I felt bad about taking it and threw it away.

Aside from that? Sorry... I got nuthin'. So if you want to hold the rubber ball thing against me, go ahead.

Sure it was dishonest but i see no need to trash the guy. If you think youre better then him then be happy about it and keep your mouth shut. This site really disgusts me lately.

My original point was that what the OP did was dishonest and not only should he not brag about it, but also shouldn't post about it here, because the Admin have previously asked posters not to.

Fin.

When I worked in a convenience store, I found money on the floor plenty of times. Every time someone came back and asked about it, I would give it back to them (damn conscious), but I've never felt bad about keeping what I've found.
Conversely, I've had people pull on me what this guy did. It's disgusting at times (although finagling a better deal on movies isn't really all that bad), but people are going to try to get away with WHATEVER they can, and when it happened to me, and when I realized later that I got screwed, I literally said "Well, I should have known better".
