oh man I'd love to to see Pumpkinhead rebooted!

I know a lot of folks don't like to see remakes/reboots. I'm a fan of them. I like to see how these older films can be reimagined with modern technology. It's not like the older film no longer exists to be enjoyed anyway.

Although I really like the original, I wouldn't be against a reboot. Unless a company already has plans to release the original on Blu-ray and just haven't announced it yet, I wouldn't be surprised that it would get released close to when the reboot comes out. If it is made of course.

A company is definitely releasing Pumpkinhead, and possibly even this year.
Who though? MGM, Twilight Time, and Scream Factory are all possibilities.
But it IS coming.

There was also news this week that Blumhouse was interested in producing a remake of another Scream Factory hopeful, The Sentinel, in the vein of their other "popcorn horror films", like Paranormal Activity, The Purge, etc.

If the link doesn't work for whatever reason search for yourself. It's funny though because "Shout!/Scream Factory" actually put "Incredible Melting Man" out as a serious offering, to them it's a joke title, it's a MST3k movie. I side with Arrow here. The other joke was that they were putting out "Ghost Dad" which is hilarious, I love the cover artwork they made for them as well.
Seems they really did have "TIMM"

And, again, I'm impressed with that alternate, original cover art.

What do you think?

It will be complete garbage, I am 100% sure.

You got that right, Like 0.4% of remakes are actually worth watching... And most of them are vintage remakes. I hate CGI, Movies used to be an art... Not now. Sad as f#ck!

The original's not really anything special apart from the monster effects, and the only reason I like those so much is I'm a special effects nerd and love seeing well-done practical monsters like that, plus I used to follow the careers of guys like Stan Winston. I don't see the point in remaking a movie like this where the story wasn't exactly why anyone remembers it and barely anyone has even heard of it. Though I guess maybe it's as well-known as "The Hills Have Eyes" or "I Spit On Your Grave" and they certainly had no qualms about remaking those and giving the remakes sequels!

I know, I've always loved the first two Pumpkinhead movies, and assumed that almost everyone else in the h orror community did too... In fact I'm starting to believe blu-ray.com just has a blood feud () with the film!

Pumpkinhead will always hold a deep spot in my heart, just because it was always a VHS I constantly rented on Friday nights with the horror marathons us guys would have as kids.

Love this making of feature as well:

Jaws 3 is actually my favorite of the series. Great cast and the scene where the shark is swimming at the control room window. The looks on the faces of the people is priceless. True Oscar moment.

yeah, I don't understand these weird "turn on a specific film" rants that seem to haunt this forum. PUMPKINHEAD has always been a good film with a remarkable monster creation by the great Stan Winston.

Nobody ever said it was on the level of The Exorcist or Alien for example, but it's a far better film than a lot of what passes for horror today with braindead efforts laced with torture, crappy effects, and by the numbers plotlines..

I saw Pumpkinhead when it first came to VHS. I was very young. I have to say that the 2nd half of the movie when Pumpkinhead goes on his rampage was fairly scary.

How do I feel about the movie now? I don't know... I haven't seen it all the way since.

I still have my VHS and the SE DVD edition, but would more than welcome a bluray release.
