I wonder how these titles will be screened. According to Google, other series with the same title have played across the country over the past year, with screenings also introduced by Ms. Lancaster. (With other favorites that are no-shows here: 'Criss Cross,' 'Vera Cruz,' etc.)

I live about 3 miles away and have never made it to a screening at White Hall.

I really wanted to catch 'Mauvais Sang' a few weeks ago but it slipped my mind.

I'd love to see a theatrical screening of Criss Cross. That's one of my favorite film noirs. So bleak, but so amazing.

I saw the 1933 original version of King Kong at White Hall a few years back. One of the best films of all time, and it was great to see it on a big screen with an audience.

If I want to buy anything from Amazon.com the shipping is $15, this is set by Amazon.

Criterion direct charge me $10 for the first film then $3 for each additional film.

B&N are slightly cheaper at $4 for the first item then $2 after.

This means getting a good deal is virtually impossible if you are outside of the US. Any discount saved on the film is taken up by the shipping, which slightly pisses me off.

When is the next wave of Criterion announcements? I really want them to announce more Truffaut on Blu-ray. Maybe a set of Blu-ray releases of his films from their more recent acquisitions.

Traditionally the 15th for the titles three months away, unless the 15th falls on a weekend or national holiday, when the announcement is usually the first business day that follows.

So, Tuesday April 15th is most likely when we'll see the July titles announced.

Unlikely - there's been two Truffaut releases this year already. Same for Kurosawa and Wes Anderson.

Criterion does have a fairly good habit of waiting to do the more expensive releases until just before or during a sale...

One of the two you are referring to doesn't count if you already owned the prior release of it. Unless you really, really, really wanted the DVD disc... I already had that anyway as I have the Doinel set.

For me to send a packet that would contain 1/2 dvd/BR it would cost about $8!!

I do not mind paying when it is a small business but the automatic $15 that amazon.com forces onto the price means unless the seller is prepared to be reasonable they don't get my business.

It's still a release and Criterion is still a commercial enterprise - they know not to oversaturate their output with too much of the same at any point, regardless of the fact it probably won't have anywhere near the number of sales that the original or average release has(/had).

It very much counts in that mindset and I can't see Criterion viewing it otherwise either.

Personally, I'd like to see a Fellini upgrade. Either La Strada or Juliet of the Spirits would do nicely.
