Just a suggestion, but if you want more people to participate and take your poll seriously, I would narrow it down to the titles that have at least a slight chance of getting a release from Shout/ Scream. I would keep on the public domain titles, even though Cliff said they don't have any interest, just because that could change over time (Especially when they run out of titles to release), and there is at least a slight chance there. Same with Sony titles, I could see Scream releasing some as non-Collector's Editions one day. But anything from Warner is just NEVER going to happen. If things change and Warner opens up their titles, then re-add them. But right now the poll is just overly long for no reason.

I hope you don't take this personal, but a poll like this could actually be useful, and I think more would participate in it if you out out the fat so to speak. I've seen comments form several members on here who agree with this.

Also, if you want to include Shout prospects as well, I would maybe make that a separate poll, as again, not too many people are going to have the time to go through 1000+ titles for a poll.
ok, well I am making a serious list, I guess I can move it to another spreadsheet and do another poll, "Titles Most Likely to be Released by Scream/Shout" is the name of the tab in the sheet i made, but I could move it over to another sheet.

For Shout, it's because there are so many requests for that company, even though it's on Scream's page and thread, and I got tired of sorting though them all, and trying to find out which one is more Scream material than the other. I could separate it out and try but that is also a lot of work, and to make matters more complicated, I'm still adding more titles, I'm still going though this thread and find more requests, (i'm at page 272 out of 634) thankful, it's not a whole lot, (mostly). and this was once just Scream Factory, but at some point I just gave up, I'm doing this all by myself, and would love it for people to help, I know it's 1000+ titles to go though, but remember I'm doing this by myself as well. On top of that I'm currently a Film Student at Colorado Film School, and working as a producer for a student film we plan to film in the summer, (if we ever get the money for it), I've been doing list as a side-project. I do want to finish it and make it perfect.

I'm saying I will make a separate poll one for Scream and for Shout, with the Scream one being more serious and taking out "all the fat" also I don't know who owns what, Yes I could use IMDb, but when I come across titles that list independent companies or de-bunked companies, I have no clue who owns it. Yes not much of good thing, if someone making this list isn't familiar with who owns what, but can you tell me who owns "Wolf Lake (1980)" or "Unidentified Flying Objects: The True Story of Flying Saucers (1956 Documentary)"? more popular titles I can do. This will take some more work, I will try to do this, but on top of this side-project, I'm trying to make a similar poll for Scorpion Releasing, Blue Underground, Olive Films, Synapse Films, and Criterion Collection. (I Know the last one is going to be a dosy) anyways Thanks for your kind words and being honest with me, I will try to make this list the one, everyone will want to vote in.

Got to get to work, got a lot to do, (this including school and producing work) see you around

thanks for doing these!! I think it's a really good idea and would also suggest to narrow the options down a bit. If we had maybe 100 titles to choose from then I would hope think that studios would see some clear "majority rule" choices and increase the odds of releasing wishlist titles...

100 is asking a lot out of me, I don't think it will be that short, but if I had to guess it could be around to 500-750 titles, maybe even less than that. so please tell which companies, if they own the rights so I just remove I know these companies for sure.

Echo Bridge (Miramax)
Full Moon
Lionsgate
Millennium Entertainment
Paramount
Sony
Troma
Warner Brothers

However, Spawningblue told me, to keep sony as Scream could release them, But what do you think? also any other companies (beside Scorpion Releasing, Blue Underground, Olive Films, Synapse Films, and Criterion Collection) I should add to "if they have it, never going to happen" category?

I'd say keep the Echo Bridge Miramax until he have concrete Lionsgate releases of some of their stuff (From Dusk Till Dawn, Halloween sequels).

I would think that these would be the best companies to poll....
I'm just hoping that the result of these polls can actually get a title greenlit. If Scorpion, as an example, saw maybe 5 titles that had a ton of votes from a long list, perhaps they will release them.
If, on the other hand, Shout sees an enormous list with various films getting 5 votes here and 10 votes there, they may not react to anything on the poll....

I know, But i'm asking which companies should I remove from the Scream List i'm making, like I know Warner Bros will never license so remove all them, but what companies like Vestron, Vidmark, Image, and such, if they have the rights do I remove or keep, that's primarily what i'm asking at the moment.

P.S. I have closed the polls.

EDIT: also which Genres should I remove, I know keep horror, but what about Thriller? besides the oblivious ones, which genres should I keep? and which should I remove?

Off the top of my head, in no particular order:

Image Entertainment
Grindhouse Releasing
Severin
Twilight Time
Drafthouse Films
Raro Video
Kino
Starz/Anchor Bay
Slasher//Video
Retromedia
Mondo Macabro
Massacre Video

I wouldn't bet money on or against a Code Red DVD deal happening again, but I'd probably would leave those titles off of the list.

If I were you I would stick to companies like MGM, Universal, and Fox, studios they have dealt with.

I would also add Sony and public domain films.

They have dealt with the first three, and Sony does license films out so it's a possibility. Scream wasn't interested before because they wouldn't allow them to create new extras, but they have released a lot of non Collector's Edition titles without new extras so I don't see why Sony would be any different. Titles like Candyman already has lots of extras created.

As for public domain, I know Cliff has said they will never do them, but if a title gets enough votes and shows there is enough interest, you never know. Eventually they are going to run out of top tier titles so they may give something like a Night of the Living Dead a chance than. Plus the whole reasoning behind their reason makes no sense. They rarely create new transfers, and if everyone was stealing public domain transfers we would have a lot more releases of Night of the Living Dead here in North America.

And finally, if you aren't sure of the studio or its a smaller company I would add them, as you never know.

For now I would steer clear of Lion's Gate, Warner, Image, etc. titles as they haven't been able to crack them yet. You can always save the list of titles somewhere for now, and if anything changes in the future re-add them. But for now, any titles owned by those companies are a no go for now.

And personally, I wouldn't add titles that already have decent Blu-ray discs. It's one thing to add Escape from New York, or The Thing (80s remake), as at least in North America these releases are pretty much barebones. But titles like Joy Ride, Killer Klowns form Outer Space, etc. already have good releases and it would be a waste of time and money for Scream to touch them.

Either way, these are just my opinions. I hope you don't take the criticism too harshly, I think this is a great idea and who knows, could lead to a release happening one day, it just needs a little editing as again, I can guarantee, not too many will want to do a poll that is over a 1000 titles. I tried checking it out on my iPhone and it had a heart attack when it saw how big it was. Can't wait to see what you end up creating!

Vestron, Vidmark, Avid, LIVE, Artisan, Lightning Video, Trimark, IVE, F.H.E. U.S.A. Home Video, etc. are all Lionsgate predecessors.

Please don't make it more than a 100 titles. More than that, and it's just too many titles to sift thru.

You can use IMDb as a sort of guage--you know, the list could use movies with the most votes (ie Wolf Lake has 71 votes, you can probably leave it off the list ).

Thanks again, and no your not too harsh, and for this list I have removed all movies that had a blu-ray release like Killer Klowns, Magic and such, (but I haven't removed The Thing 1980's and EFNY), and thanks for let me know, the list will definitely be less than 1000, but that is all I can guarantee as it probably be more then 200 titles (between 300-750 is my best guess) and after I'm done with remove those titles with those companies, I will list all the other companies I have come across and you can tell me, if I should delete titles with certain companies or keep them. also let's move this talk over to https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=236332 , so we don't disturb this thread too much, , or we could PM instead, anyways got to keep working.

ok, I will look and set up a blocker, like less than 100 votes, but it's still going to be a lot of titles regardless, but I can do a list of top 100 most popular voted for, but for the poll it's still going to be long, but with these company restrictions, it should be shorter

I was wondering.

Would it ever be possible for Scream to release Michael Mann's The Keep on Blu-Ray?

Granted the films a bit of a mess but it's a beautiful mess.

That's been asked for a ton of times and the answer is no. Scream can't get it. It would be nice though.
