We have been treading water for years anyway. We aren't rich enough to compete at this level. We needed to go for the Everton way of doing things as that's the only option if you are not top 4. Good manager, good football and the team working hard for each other. We ended up more like tranmere rovers. It's a shame for Ellis Short because he has most certainly tried and I think he is staggered at the potential of the club (he couldn't believe the scenes in covent garden when we went to wembley) so he knows the potential it's just a matter of fulfilling that! (The hardest part)
