I think the Wings have too much going for them right now to be stopped by any team, even though Pitt is a very good team and probably their toughest test yet. Datsyuk and Zetterberg are unstoppable, Osgood looks better than he ever has, and the Mule is on his way back!

I think the defense of Detriot and Osgood being great this post season is going to end Crosby and the penguins great run! I mean lets face it, philly was a creme puff opponent for the penguins and it's going to comeback to bite them in the a@@ once they step on the ice with one of the 3 best teams in the league!

I wish I could vote 1,000 times, if I could... I might vote for the Penguins on one of those times...... just to be fair actually... come to think of it... all 1,000 votes would have to go to the Wings

Unfortunately... the Wings should take it. I will try to keep hope that the Pens can pull it off, I just don't see it happening.

Let's be honest folks.

We've all heard the doom-and-gloom before, Pittsburgh has faced it since round one when they were supposed to fall to Ottawa in 6 {or less} games and swept them.

I wouldn't count Pittsburgh out of the race until the last goal is scored.

Not anymore, there's a salary cap now. They just can't run and and buy whoever they want like the Yankees.

no one is counting out the pens, but wings are just as deep and balanced as the Pens + theire experience to win is just too much to handle for the Pens this year.

I would say Wings in 6, with Sid learning the lesson of failure before he really starts Pens as a dynasty team (possibly).

did any of you watch the 98 playoffs where Osgood basically won it all for the Wings? (or 2000? I forgot which year, but the year Osgood basically stole the show)

Osgood is playing just like he did before and he is tough to beat. Of course, the D in Wings and Bobcock system is another reason.

Wings in 6, though as much as I'd like to see the Pens win.

Lidstrom still has another 1 or 2 cups left in him before he hands it over to Sid

do you watch hockey??

I mean, yes, Wings does spend quite a bit to go after UFAs, but those are seldom.

Look at the lineups they bolster right now, 80% of the core are built within and they learned from the great stevie Y.

Lidstrom, Franzen, Dats, zetterberg, Hrdler, Kronwall, the main core were all home-grown. Sure, there are the likes in Rafalski and Shanahan in the past, but they are more of supporting cast than anything.

Wings is probably one of the best run franchise in hockey, comparable to that of the devils.

It's true, but I disagree about the Devils.

I mean if the Devils were run that well, they'd be up against Detroit for the Stanley Cup right?

But Detroit not only has homegrown talent, but they also have team loyalty, they keep their players around in executive rolls which fosters a great deal of loyalty to not only the brand but the team itself.

I have a massive amount of respect for Detroit and think that if Toronto would run even half as well as Detroit they'd be in the playoffs every year.

Bloody 'No Trade' contracts.

Well, first of all, I agree. I am a nucks fan, and I can only wish the nucks can be run just 25% as good as the wings or the devils.

I dont like the devils, but I have to argue for them.

Devils have made the playoffs 18 out of the last 20 years and they won tthe cup in 95, 2000, and 2003. Mind you, that is the most cups won by a team in the last 15 years. (tied with Detroit, and followed by Dallas/colorado)

They have 10 100pt+ season in the last 12 years. (this year being 99 points and 01/02 have 95 points. Second most behind Detroit.

They have reached 40+ win mark in 11 straight years. (again, 2nd only behind the wings).

I mean, there are just too much stat to say about the devils. I dont like them, but I have to say they are one of the best run franchise in the league as well, and they dont after UFAs like Wings would.

Everything is contributed to MARTIN BRODEUR. Then, look at their core players in the past 10-15 years. Most of them are home grown such as Brodeur, Holik, Stevens, Madden, Elias, Rafalski, and NEIDERMEYER!! just to name a few.

The top 3 best run clubs, in my opinion would be, the devils, wings and the senators.

(will judge the Pens in 5 years)

All good points my friend, and I defer to you.

But the Sens, look like they may be on their way out on that one.

Despite firing their head coach I think they might be on their way out, they just don't have it anymore.

I was cheering for the Sens but since Pitts gave them a beating I've been pulling for the Pens.

Unlike most years I've been only one behind the pics and I'd rather not have to cheer on Detroit. Also admittedly since my Oilers {been cheering for them since I was a wee lad} made the run a few years ago I have been getting better at picking them in my old age.

Why-ever not?

Don't tell me people have already started to treat Crosby with the same respect that people gave Gretzky? {IE: none at all because he was popular but good}

Furthermore, no Canadian teams, I agree with you there, that's why I refused to cheer for Montreal as I don't cheer regularly for foreign teams.

I will cheer for the Pens though, if anyone deserves it, it's the cinderella team.

my biggest gripe with crosby is that he was made the captain of the pens he didnt deserve it so soon, it should've came to him after a couple years of playing for them.

also he sold himself out to the media, hes in way to many commercials for just starting out in the nhl.

i agree that he's not getting the same respect as gretsky as what it should be like, but everyone is claiming him to be the next gretsky...no he's not, until it happens he is just another player. wait until he plays a couple years before declaring him this and that.

Yeah it is a bit early.

I mean, I remember when they were saying that Lindros was the next Gretzky. Look what happened to that whiney piece of trash.

Refuse to play in Quebec and then Quebec moved the franchise to Colorado and won a few cups leaving Lindros out in the cold.

I compare Sid to Lebron "King" James. Too much undeserved attention too soon.
