Howard Stark tells Cap in the 1st movie when he first picks it up that it's made of vibranium & he has in his hands all there is of it. In the Marvel Universe vibranium comes from a meteor that crashed in Wakanda (home of The Black Panther) so maybe that's where the extra came from? Black Panther film has been mooted (has Avengers connections).

The bottom line is this is not a thread to discuss the movie, it's on information relating to the purchase of the steelbook. Posts not related (incl. spoilers) should be removed, to prevent off-topic conversations and irritated members. At least the ignore feature works well anyway... |

Either way, it doesn't take two seconds to cover up a spoiler. This is a blu-ray forum and a lot of people don't bother going to the cinema and wait for it on blu - their loss but also their choice. So yes, it is a common courtesy to cover up spoilers and anyone with an attitude of "hey, it's out and if you haven't seen it then it's your fault" are just being selfish *******s. People shouldn't be expected to have to see a film immediately just to avoid having it spoiled for them by some idiot who wants to show off that they've watched it.
On the matter of the shield, don't forget that Stark had a version of it in Iron Man 2, probably one of the prototypes that Stark Sr. had been working on (or a second version of the Vibranium one that he made later during Cap's WWII years), so it's possible that there's another version of it kicking around. Kind of missing the correction i was making. I was merely pointing out that the movie hasn't been out for just a week in all markets. It's been out for two weeks in our market and you're posting in a thread for our market.

No, you are missing the point. It doesn't matter if the movie has been out a month, the courteous thing to do is use spoiler tags. It's why they exisit. Either you get this, or you don't. Point is, most courteous/thoughtful people automatically know this.

I know!!!!! I use spoiler tags!!!!! I was saying the movie hasn't been out for just a week in all markets. The guy was posting in a thread for a UK steelbook saying the movie had been out a week. Well as far as this thread is concerned it's been out for two weeks! I am not debating whether it is necessary to use spoiler tags as i think it is absolutely 100% necessary. You completely ignored the point of my post and are having a go at me for something that we agree upon.

I'm sorry if you haven't seen the movie. If someone posts a spoiler about it and do not spoiler tag it then what can be done? Sure they can go back and edit it and fix it but again it all boils down to common courtesy. You know how many times I have to go around here and ST people pics? A lot, why do I do it? Because I'm trying to be nice as it is a pain for some people to view the site waiting because some people are to lazy when they quote someone. Again while it would be great if people would ST movie plot points, we shouldn't expect it nor get mad when they don't do it. Going back on topic please, I hope the interior artwork for this is nice. |

So yes, it will happen. Should we expect it? To a point, but not so much so that it's just 'one of those things' because saying we expect it is pretty much telling people it's OK to do so. So, yes, out of common courtesy on a forum which is supposed to be a community and have a friendly feel, we should expect them to show a bit of consideration. Should we get mad at them? Absolutely. Why not? If they deliberately post something that spoils a film - especially a new release like this that has only been out a matter of days in some territories - then it is a perfectly OK response to get mad at them for not thinking to spoiler tag it. The forum has an option to do so, it's very simple and it helps everyone out. if you've just had a film ruined for you because someone couldn't be bothered to spoiler tag their post (or didn't want to because it hides what they say - which, let's face it, is a reason some people don't do it) then getting mad at that person is a natural reaction. The mad person isn't the bad guy in that scenario. To me that's like going into a scalping thread and saying "look, this is a discussion that's going to get heated so someone is going to get called a selfish or robbing a**hole at some point because that's how some posters are - be nice if they didn't do it but we shouldn't expect them to not do it or be mad when they do.". *Sorry if this feels like I'm singling you out as a moderator - you're a great poster and a great moderator who has done a lot since stepping up. And I'm not suggesting that you mods single-handedly delete every spoiler because I recognise you do this voluntarily. The reason I bring up your title is, as I say, simply because it's a little disheartening to think that even the mods have the attitude of "meh, it's inevitable you just have to deal with it". Sorry if this sounds like a dig, it isn't meant as such. Last edited by Buddy Ackerman; 04-09-2014 at 01:42 PM. |

I think the biggest spoiler (which wasn't huge but still a plot point from fairly late in the film) has been deleted.
