Is this worth buying? I surprisingly really liked Secret of the Wings (I was actually surprised it didn't get a theatrical release) and because of that I'm willing to give this one a chance.

It really rustles my jimmies that they didn't put out a 3D version of this after they spoiled us with Secret of the Wings in 3D.

If there's one film series that benefits from being in 3D, it's these ones... that pixie dust in 3D is amazing.

Apparently they released it theatrically in 3D so what gives? Where the hell's the 3D Blu-ray?

On the same assembly line as Frozen, apparently.

I was wondering the same thing but the Walmart Exclusive barcode number is different from the regular Blu-ray

Maybe the barcode on the box... but inside there is a regular blu ray sealed.

Yeah ... And tinkerbell in 3D gives good competition to Belle in 3D...

I checked Wal-Mart again yesterday and they never got any exclusives.

Since watching this with my nieces on release day, I've had this darn song stuck in my head:

...Of course, it could have something to do with the fact that I love all things pirate.

I could've sworn when they first put this out for preorder they had it as a 3D combo pack

And then all of a sudden, it was cancelled in mid-production with no public explanation given before it hit shelves....Darn funniest thing. Probably a heartless mercenary plot to leech our hard-earned dollars.
(No, wait, Frozen was a heartless mercenary plot to leech our hard-earned dollars, this was a doomed harbinger of the death of 3D, now that Disney was planning to pass it over once and for all. Gosh, I just can't keep those straight. )

Still, as the, ahem, soft 3D-mastered digital version didn't seem to have any problems with it, watching it now on Vudu 3D, and it's pretty good--They've actually been getting better with the Fairies movies, although Secret of the Wings was kind of a non-entry in 2D, and this one's definitely made with the 3D in mind.
I'd seen the switched-powers preview under three different titles for a year now, so I suspect the pirate plot was a last-minute contribution to try and test the envelope boundaries of the Lasseter Treaty, but it's still fun. And yes, I can't get that flying-ship tune out of my head either, so I say "Frigate".

I just scored a great deal at Target. Someone had put all the blues in a 19.99 slot including ONE of the Target editions. Showed the clerk where I found it & she graciously changed the price to 19.99 for me.

The packaging is the bluray w slipcover + the read along story book bound to the blue w a special back cardboard. Hopefully this pic helps.

I believe the book is this one which is online only for 6.99

Hope this helps

Surprisingly this film was pretty good, they didn't give Hook too much spotlight (even though he's Disney's Popular Villains) so I was pleased with how his character worked without purposely displaying his tru personality til the proper moment

Question: Did Tom Hiddleston try matchin his Hook voice with Hans Conrid/Corey Burton's Hook? cause some of the tone Tom used, sorta echoed the 2 Hooks. Also according to this article, the film series will be ending

Correct me if I'm wrong if the film series is ending by next year, then the finale should bring Peter Pan/Lost Boys and end on a foreshadow note.

FTM, was wondering why Disney wasn't marketing Zarina at the parks, as they usually do with the new character in a Tink movie, and for the first half of the movie, thought it was because she was so crazy and unlikable.
Once we get the "switch", she's a little more sympathetic, and there's more of a good action plot.

And having seen it on Vudu, though, I re-emphasize that said second half is MADE for 3D.
Let's hope Disney decides to "double dip on popularity", for reasons that have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with their efficient trouble-free factories that make good, working 3D disks for countries all over the world.

Actually, the whole "war" that ended in the upheaval at ToonStudios was over whether the Tink series was a "sequel" to Peter Pan or not--They originally wanted Tink to save the Lost Boys from Hook in the first movie, and had to literally keep two sets of books to keep the boss from finding out.
The Lasseter Treaty that allowed ToonStudios to stay open was that if Disney classified sequels as "Character marketing" (as an excuse to hold over Pixar), then they could market characters, but not specific events in classic movies.

So, you'll notice Hook, Tick-tock Croc and even
[Show spoiler]Smee
may be abstractly suggested, but they're never once mentioned by name...

I returned my Blu-ray copy of Secret of the Wings and payed extra to get it in 3D because I thought the intro where the fairs fly around would blow me away in 3D yet it didn't. Secrets of the Wings was kind of a let down in 3D with the exception of a few snow scenes that looked ok in 3D.

I don't know if it's true or not but I remember reading on this website that Secrets of the Wings was not originally a 3D film and that the reason Disney held it back for a year and pushed the release date back was so they could try to make it into a 3D film but kinda failed if you ask me.

I would have gotten Frozen in 3D but I think Disney is holding it back till Oct so that people double dip and buy it again.
