^^^

The above mentioned effect is called sunburst or starburst. Either is fine. Mater, Bolt, and Frozen both have that effect.

I was going to mention starburst (it always reminds me of that but sounds a bit silly!) so it's nice to know it's official name.

I don't even know where that came from. It was either Al, G:Box, or me.

It is my favorite effect on a slip! I hope they make more.

Someone mentioned that Disney and Fox refer to slipcovers as O-ring and O-Sleeves but I've always thought that term referred to these...?

Nope, those are considered 1/4 slips or quarter slips, I guess.
Both Miss March and Suicide Girls have those.

O-sleeves are the industry term for them. We really don't use that here, well at least the slip vets don't.

Here's another that should be on the OP.

Lenticular/Embossed

And correct me if I'm wrong but I think these type of slipcovers are exclusive to the US. It's too bad Disney stopped making them

i keep slips but these might as well just be a piece of string tying the two releases together.

Here's another example of a transparent slip if you need. The transformers one is way nicer though with that blu banner on top

That's not what I was hoping would "pop out" on that example!

BTW, I think this thread deserves to be stickied...

I think we've already covered most of the different types of packaging. Not sure why this needs to be stickied.

Great thread! Been collecting steelbooks and standard BDs for a while now, and stumbled across the Japanese slip edition for the Great Gatsby, I have it in hand now and it's the most impressive thing I own, and now realise I need to tap the slip market. I was looking for exactly this thread and today I stumble on it. Great work
