I'll go with Family Guy since I still watch it. I havn't cared for South Park since the first season. But really if there is a rivalry I would of picked The Simpsons and Family Guy as they have more in common.

No contest: South Park.

Love the S.P. Family Guy episode: "This is like the one time I went to Mexico on a date with Gary Coleman."

Random pop related jokes all strung together.

I take just Leopold Butters on TV for 5 hours verses any Family Guy episodes.

Good poll BTW... this should be interesting.

Well obviously, one is the copy of another. I love both, but overall funny animated series with great story-lines that mean something, my pick has to be The Boondocks. Those episodes have an impact on culture and represent something (well some are just written very well)

Don't ask Kevin Smith what he thinks about Family Guy (from Wikipedia):

Family Guy vs. Clerks

Kevin Smith and David Mandel, co-creators and executive producers of Clerks: The Animated Series, have gone on record showing hatred towards Family Guy. In the final episode of their Clerks, they include a scene where a bad comedy writer consults a book entitled How To Write Cartoons by Seth MacFarlane, leading him to suggest the writers send the characters to Gilligan's Island and make gay jokes about them, parodying the heavy usage of pop-culture references and offensive humor on Family Guy. On the DVD commentary to Clerks: The Animated Series, Smith refers to Seth MacFarlane as a nemesis, and Mandel calls the show "Emmy-nominated shit."

I like both a lot, but find myself re-watching Family guy more often. Have to go with Family Guy, but by a small margin.

Great poll OP, as has been said, this should be interesting

I guess if I have to choose I go with Family Guy, simply because I do not have to pay a cable/sat bill to see it. I am broke and can't afford a satellite.

Both are excellent, though I, too, enjoy watching FG over-and-over without ever getting tired of it.

I laughed till I cried during the first time I saw the SP "red-rocket" bit (y'all know what I mean), but I don't recall others like that. With FG, I find myself in tears at least every-other new episode seen for the first time.

To me, Family guy tries to be as offensive and boundry-pushing as South Park, and as reverential and witty as The Simpsons, but does neither as well as the aforementioned shows. That, and the fact that FG is one long stream of unrelated, pop culture referencing, flashbacks which, while sometimes are amusing, have nothing to do w/ the actual stories, makes it one of the most overrated waste of times in TV history (brought to you by the same network responsible for THE most overrated wastes of time in TV history, American Idol). South Park FTW.

P.S: For those that will undoubtedly quote ratings, I respond w/ a quote from Penn Jillette; ".......and "Candle In The Wind" by Sir Elton John is the best selling song of all time. Just cuz it's true, don't make it right."

I like South Park better, although Blue Harvest is one of my favourite episodes of TV ever.
