I grew up on these films, love them, but a second remake?????

And I figured going back to Paramount, the lame gimmicks would end.

I'm just mad that they just don't get what the fans really want.

This movie will suck balls.

EXACTLY!!!!!!

I wrote an official Part NINE script, which would have survivors of parts 2-8 return.

He'll, bringing Feldman back alone would be enough for fans.

Found Footage gimmick has Michael Hack Bay written all over it.

We’ve been biting our tongues for the past week with TheWrap officially breaking the news that David Bruckner, who wrote and directed the “Amateur Night” segment of V/H/S for us, is in negotiations to get behind the camera for the Friday the 13th reboot for Paramount and Platinum Dunes!

While plot details aren’t necessarily under wraps, it’s unclear what approach Bruckner plans to take with the reboot, or how it will incorporate the Jason Voorhees/Camp Crystal Lake mythology.

It’s also unclear whether Friday the 13th will employ a found-footage approach, that was previously mentioned. TheWrap agrees that Bruckner would be a wise choice, as his V/H/S segment “Amateur Night” follows three guys who bring a mysterious girl back to their motel room, where terror strikes.

It should also be mentioned that Bruckner previously co-wrote and co-directed the 2007 horror film The Signal, and he has also been working on the home invasion thriller Intrusion for producers Doug Davison and David Linde.

Paramount has already picked out the perfect release date for the Friday the 13th reboot — Friday, March 13, 2015.

Platinum Dunes principals Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are producing with Michael Bay.

Yeah, his segment wasn't my favorite either. Still, the fact that there will be another Friday the 13th movie is exciting enough for me!
I don't think the found footage idea is a good one either. Honestly, I just want Jason back in the woods picking off teenagers. More of the same of course, but it's simple and if done right, can be great.

The release date is in 11 months and they haven't even begun casting yet. They're really going to fast-track this, aren't they?

Doesn't take long to film a movie like Friday the 13th. Plus they haven't announced cast but they could have some signed up already.

It's nothing new for Paramount. Most of the original F13 movies were released within one year of each other. If they plan on keeping this low budget it shouldn't take long.

Still a little weary about this, regardless.

All studios know how to do nowadays is 'reboot' everything...and half the time the films aren't even a decade old. 'Fantastic Four'. 'Spider-Man'. It's really pathetic. And if it's not rebooted, it's found footage bullshit. What could be worse? BOTH together at the same time. Uggghhh. At least Warner Brothers was trying. Paramount doesn't know their asses from a hole in the ground anymore when it comes to this franchise.

Taylor Lautner should be in this. He needs a new movie.

And the pedigree of the 'young people' shouldn't be an issue. This franchise is about Camp Crystal Lake, Jason & Pamela Voorhees, Murders, etc. Not if someone has big titties or has a camel toe. Seriously. It's supposed to be a serious horror film. I can see this being the last one for a long time if not ever. They are going to royally f*ck this up.

If he dies in an extremely grisly way within the first hour, I'm okay with this.

First hour? I'm thinking the opening credits scene.

I feel the FIND FOOTAGE angle will make the directors think outside the box and not the same old crap they create with this series.

Fan fic is hardly official, and no one from paramount would likely ever accept your idea even as a spec script
Here's a idea why not wait till pics and filming info start releasing before prejudging a film. Just a thought

You know this film will be released in 3D. Its inevitable. If not 3D than found footage. Whatever gimmicky shit they ploy to release upon the audience that actually bothered to show up. This movie will probably be worse than the remake.
