Watched it on netflix, i liked it but i didn't i agree with the idea that it just seemed like it was being drawn out the story is unique in a way but still quite boring to say the least. I watched the first 25, idk if i will continue.

Attack on Titan broadcast vs BD art/animation changes.

I don't believe this has been posted here yet.

They do this alot in anime. The companies are always on tight schedules and always rush to finish then after it airs they have some time to do some final touchups before releasing it on blu. I remember reading an article about this somewhere.

Why did they add blur to the background in shots 2,3,4, and 5?
I mean I guess as the article said they want to focus more on the characters correct?

Yeah, I expect it often nowadays.

Depth of Field

One of my favorite examples of this is in the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. There's a scene were she's sitting at at desk and sits up suddenly -- and towards the "camera", and we briefly lose focus while the "camera" adjusts.

Accckkk....This is part of my first order with Rightstuf, and they keep sending me an email with this saying they don't have it right now, and they "working to get". I keep thinking it's a shipping email!

In any event, looking forward to this blind buy.

Lol - get used to those weekly "courtesy" emails - I have 7 separate pre-orders open with Rightstuf right now, and they send me seven of those every week...

The emails for actual shipping confirmation have a differently-worded subject line, so you'll recognize that one right away...

It's certainly nice of them to do that, as it beats the alternative!

Just watched the first 12 episodes thanks to this thread. Interesting so far. Is the version on Netflix the original broadcast version or the blu ray version?

ANN has a review of the first five episodes English dub. Per that review the version that will be airing on Toonami is the home video version (with changes I linked to above), not the broadcast video.

so only a few weeks til we get some titan blu!

in the meantime AOT is doing very well on Toonami

1st episode 1,341,000 viewers
2nd episode 1,469,000 viewers

those are some pretty phenomenal numbers for anime viewership in the states.

I sure hope TRSI ships it early.... and it's not backordered like GITS:Arise II was and I got my preorder weeks after release date....

Want to see what the ratings are on Toonami after episode 5...

And this should be the Toonami trailer for AoT, no words/announcer needed:

Looking forward to seeing this, as it will be a first time for me.
I, too, hope it's not backordered...but for the nice price I got on TRSI, I don't mind waiting a little while, if need be.

Yeah that price for the LE one was a steal. I mean $49 or so versus $60 everywhere else.

But regular edition for $29 is even better...
