ahh Rollerball. I'd like to think it'll sell out in hours. But then again I'm terrible with numbers, especially with regards to BR. It just about blows my mind that ONLY 3000 households will end up with a BR copy of this sweet dystopian sci-fi film.

There's just no way this will sell out the first day. Christine took 7 hours with Stephen King fans, John Carpenter fans, horror fans and youth movie fans.

Rollerball is a cult favorite, yes, but I'm not sure Norman Jewison fans are saying, "I've got to get this!" Even Caan fans must see it as one of his more hokey roles, Elf notwithstanding.

Now, Jewison and Caan fans, don't jump all over me(!); I'm just saying this doesn't have the lightning rods for sales like Christine, NotLD, et al, did. I think it'll last weeks.

Nahhhhh. At this point the thread for Christine was over 1,000 replies, the Rollerball one is almost at 300.

It'll sell out at some point, but not today. Probably something more in the boat with Enemy Mine.

Yes, they accept payment through PayPal, and yes, payment is made immediately.

When paying by credit card, they put in a pre-authorization for the total amount that you're ordering. This expires in a day or two or three. Your account doesn't actually get charged until your order ships.

And lastly, yes, that URL works.
Thank you very much!

As Rollerball hasn't been released anywhere else, and it does have quite a big following I don't think it'll take long to sell out. Obviously it's not going to be another Christine or Night of the Living Dead, but it might be gone in a few days. And the cover looks great too!

The way I attack these titles (I own 60+), go after what you want from the last release as they are readily available. Presales are great - but not all titles sell through is NOTLD'90 or Christine level.

So hold off and wait for reviews to surface on titles that you are on the fence about.

Just my .02!

all these "when will it sell out posts" are strange to me... maybe it will sell out today, maybe next month... who cares?

if you want the title simply order it today... can't you just cancel if you change your mind later?

I regret not getting Enemy Mine. But I only have myself to blame for that one. Maybe one day.

I see and concur with this statement -- however, a majority of people juggle releases and with a $30 ticket (and the comments withstanding on service and shipping charges ), it's a budgeted decision that only really kicks in when the 'only 500 units remain' que hits the TT FB page.

Cool

I'd say Thunderbolt and Lightfoot is probably the next TT title that will sell out. If it's been out only since February and it's already at below 700, I'd say it doesn't have too much longer...probably a month of less. Not sure about the other titles listed as under 500, but I'd guess they'll be around longer than Thunderbolt and Lightfoot since some of them were released well over a year ago. Preaty much everything that has been released recently has a very low chance of selling out in the next month. Just because they say it's selling briskly, does not mean it's going to sell out any time soon. They've said the same thing about other titles that are still around

Not much hype for this month's preorders. SAE doesn't have anything up yet about it at all, and the TT facebook page doesn't have anything either about today. I'm not even sure what the extras are supposed to be on the stuff going up for preorder.

I might pick up Sexy Beast as well as Rollerball. It's a great movie but I can understand why it's still in stock; I'm not sure how well it really translates abroad for the majority of people (I'm an expat).

I'd say right after that is used cars and "The Driver" or "hard times" ... not even a year released and they're between 500 and 700... they'll sell out in a few months like enemy mine did

Is Rollerball a safe blind buy for someone who is:

1. A James Caan fan
2. Loves Dystopian/sci-fi movies
3. Highly enjoyed Whip-it

I'm already 95% all in anyway, I just need a little extra push.

Never saw Whip-It, but I think based on the first two categories, I'm going to say yes, do it.

I hope I'll be able to order this from the office...
