Of course. Scream licensed it from them. MGM logos, Fox logos, and Universal, Studio Canal, etc, logos are literally all over their other titles.

It is not a co-release though.

And that blu-ray's probably so cheap (and early) because its a promo copy. A screene, if you will. I wish you to a very happy life together . I can't wait for mine! Final Exam is wonderful.

Hahaha! My wife is the same way with eyeballs. Let's just say that although she likes Fulci films, she doesn't like every scene.

Have you ever made her watch Opera? Not as gruesome as Zombie (Flesh Eaters), but about as suspenseful as things can get for those sensitive to eyes.

Interesting that Kino now has a deal with MGM. Along with Twilight Time, it looks like Scream now has further competition on that front.

Not yet. Only 5 have been announced so far - Witness for the Prosecution, Marty, Paris Blues, Duel at Diablo and The Scalphunters. They might not go for any horror titles, who knows, but still it's great to see more of MGM/UA's extensive catalogue coming out on Blu-ray.

And I guess we still don't know how many titles Scream secured in their latest MGM deal. To be honest, there aren't that many more significant titles I envisage other companies being interested in.

I disagree. I think MGM has a plethora of genre titles that are deserving of a blu-ray release.

One example: New Years Evil. Sim-shotdow by Jeff on part 2 of the Choice Cuts STYD video last week. sadly

Food of the Gods, Dolls, Squirm, Deranged, Phantom of the Opera, Scarecrows, The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane, To All A Goodnight, Candyman 2, Audrey Rose, VINCENT PRICE MOVIES!!! etc etc etc. And I do mean ETC! There are so many more!!!

Witness for the Prosecution is an excellent courtroom drama for those who watch films outside of horror - it will be nice to see it remastered in HD and probably some extras to go with it

I second this.

I watched it for the first time last year and loved it.

If they have a deal with MGM maybe they snagged Planet of the Vampires..it makes sense since Kino has released a bevy of Bava movies...It would be one of those pleasant *surprises* where you can say Im not surprised they got it.

I don't have many Kino titles, but they do good jobs with quality from the ones I have seen. Hopefully they can get out some of the older, and obscure, titles that Scream may be hesitant to touch.

Is this movie as great as 12 Angry Men? I love 12 Angry Men. I wish I had the storage space and funds to collect all genres. I knew when I started into Blu Ray collecting, that I had to focus on my favorite genre, Horror, due to my strict budget.

Hi guys, would you share your opinion about some SF releases?
I bought THE FOG c.e. and I must say I'm really satisfied with the work SF did, it looks overall the best transfer and Cundey's supervision makes me feel comfortable.

But what about other titles like THEY LIVE, PRINCE OF DARKNESS and DAY OF THE DEAD?
In order, when comparing the 2 Carpenter's movie with the Italian release of They Live and German blu-ray of Prince of Darkness, apparently SF masters look better, but then I notice that there is too much contrast, and color timing is too warm, especially considering John Carpenter's usual style and aesthetic.
Look here:

SF vs German

Of course Scream Factory has newer masters, but they are clearly full of noise and artifacts, and colors are a bit too saturated. As for Day Of The Dead, Anchor Bay shows less details, but again original color timing here seems pretty much closer to Romero's photography, don't you agree?
Do you confirm these SF releases have such problems?

There is no difference in the A/V quality between the promotional copy, and the final blu-ray release, including the special features. The blu-ray will be packaged with the same case, and cover artwork...The promotional copy was only viewed for screening. For $10.00, It's a great buy. It beats paying $24.00 for it after the release date (that's for sure)! If you had the opportunity to buy it early for $10.00, you and everybody else would have grabbed it like I did.

She hasn't seen Opera yet. I should definitely show that one to her.

I'd say that the Italian release of They Live and the German release of Prince of Darkness are superior to their Scream Factory counterparts. Mostly due to the fact that Scream's releases are riddled with sharpening artifacts and horrific edge enhancement.

Yes I think so , in fact I think it's better than 12 Angry Men because of the great twist and turns..and if I say anything else I might spoil it and I don't want to do that. I really would check it out - I highly recommend this film. It blew me away the fist time I saw it..

Ive been a multi-genre person for quite awhile now..I started watching classics about 7 years ago and started to collect them along with horror, science fiction, silents, fantasy , etc... Ive got TONS of movies and couldnt watch them all in 5 years lol
Now its a sickness !!

I understand the "sickness". If I would have kept all of my DVD's I had accumulated from 2000-2007, instead of selling a ton on Amazon to fund my final year of college, I'd have thousands of movies. But, when I got back into movie collecting in 2013, I promised my wife that I wouldn't go overboard. So, that is why almost all my blus are horror. I figured it would be harder to track down the horror movies, instead of studio classics, in the future.
