I have owned this film in Beta, Laserdisc and DVD; not looking forward to the Blu-ray.
All the past releases had good transfers. The Blu-ray should really shine. Jerry Goldsmith's score for this one is incredible.
My brother took me to see it in the theater and it was one of those magic times of being swept up in a roaring adventure in history. After the movie he explained the differences between the film and what had actually happened. He was a historian who expertise was European Military History with an emphasis on the British Empire. Later he would encompass American history to a level of being offered a position by the Federal Government as an advisor to American Embassies around the world.
He knew his facts well but readily put them aside to enjoy a film based in history yet changed for filmic reasons. Some films angered him due to the separation from truth, but others although still altered, remained true in ways most people would never know in small details that amazed him were kept - the wind and the lion was one of those films.
I know upon it's release my brother will be with me in spirit, and we'll both be enjoying it.

One of my faves from the 70's. Well acted, great cinematography and an engaging story line. This will be on my price tracker for sure.

Another snapper-case DVD I can get rid of. Great visuals, Sean Connery and a magnificent Jerry Goldsmith score...what's not to love?

Now we just need Twilight Time to do Robin and Marion - ideally with both scores (John Barry's and Francis Lai's unused one) - and we'll have all three Sean Connery 70s adventure movies.

Try WBShop. Go to the Deals thread and find the WBShop thread (it gets daily traffic so should be near the top). There is mention of a coupon that works on their site to order from WAC.

I ordered off Amazon when it went up, and used some amazon credit card rewards points to knock down the price.

Just got an email from Amazon. Mine has shipped. I haven't seen this movie in 25+ years, don't remember anything about it except that I liked it a lot.

Personally, it's The Great Train Robbery that I'm really looking for next...
