Has anyone heard anything new about this 50th anniv release? My current copy is still sealed so will get it sold if this version will be better

The closer we get to release date with no information, the more I think this is just a repackaged, if there was something new why wouldn't they be saying something? Hope i'm wrong but feels like another cynical marketing exercise!

I recently spoke with Sheldon Hall at Bradford WideScreen Weekend. He is of the opinion it is just a repackage job.

I have a small glimmer of hope that it could be the same transfer without the DNR. A new print is probably out of the question, but I assume they would keep a copy of the original unaltered scan somewhere before they sprinkle it with all that waxy magic.
To those in the UK, I would be very thankful for some reports! Alot of times it seems, at least for American blu-rays that were botched, the remaster slides under the radar and you really have to do the research to seek out the new version. |

According to the BBFC the original cinema release was cut but no details -"This work was cut. To obtain this category cuts were required but the details are not available." But the website says every home release since the VHS is uncut
