It is wierd because I was watching the Golden Compass and the bit rate got had an average bitrate (5.4mbps). I thought the reason to us DTS-MA was because it uses up less space than Uncompressed PCM ?
well Golden Compass is 7.1, that's why bitrate is bigger...

DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 6208Kbps (48kHz/24-bit)
DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 4109Kbps (48kHz/24-bit)
DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 2533Kbps (48kHz/16-bit) from avs audio thread "

with PCM you have 4.6mbps for 16bit, or 6.9 mbps for 24bit on 5.1
with PCM 7.1 you have 6.144 mbps for 16bit, and I don't know number for 24bit 7.1
