well, it would be lightsabers since it was sliced in half, wasn't it? - now it's just two single-blade ones

Can someone answer this? Is Andy Serkis the only person capable character/performance acting he seems to corner this side of universe. It's baffling that he's the immediate go to person. Kudos to him.

There are plenty of other actors who can do motion capture, but he's one of the pioneers and is considered to be the best. The best are always the immediate go to people for those who can afford the best. It's not baffling at all.

In all fairness, we don't even know for sure that he's playing a CG character. He probably is, but it's definitely possible that he's giving a live action performance.

this. I actually hope he is playing a live action character. They always seem to have some creature supporting character (Chewbacca, JarJar...), so it's quite possible, but I would rather see him just in a normal role as himself.

Im fairly certain they will be abandoning Jar Jar LOL. besides, why would he be in 3 episodes, disappear for 3 episodes, then return for the new ones.

His life as a galactic diplomat kept him busy for many years before he retired on Naboo (a place they never went in the original trilogy, hence why he never appeared). In Episode VII, they'll pull him out of retirement because they need his vast knowledge to help them save the galaxy.

Leia wants some emergency powers to save the galaxy from a great evil?

Well, Star Tours: The Adventure Continues is in 3D and it turned out very well. If any 3D conversion is done, it may be better than The Phantom Menace 3D.

The discussion at hand suggests that the only thing Andy brings to his roles is his ability to put on a motion capture suit.

I think he's proved by now that he's one hell of an actor.

A title announcement would be nice. But that will probably be during Comic Con.
