Since when they're charging taxes in Florida? I never pay them when I use my address in Miami.

Will update as others (ultimately) are added.
Wouldn't it be easier to just link to the amazon page that (presumably) is always up to date? http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/custom...?nodeId=468512

Sure, done.

It's still nice to have a thread though...this is a discussion forum after all.

I live in Florida, I noticed it as soon as I went to checkout, quickly canceled the order and went to bb and used price match. I'm done with amazon, I just can't stand waiting for it to arrive and sometime it arrives damaged. For comic graphic novels I switched to instocktrades, they have amazing packaging and lower prices.

You are still paying state sales tax at Best Buy, so I don't see how you are getting away with it.

Pretty simple you don't have to wait for shipping specially if you don't have prime. Plus now that you have to pay taxes and the have raise the price for prime it's just a complete waste since now day everybody is price matching even toys r us

5 within 10 miles each direction? That's crazy poor logistics. And here, I've got to drive 45 minutes to get to our nearest BB (hour and a half round trip), just to find out they didn't get but 4 copies of something, 3 of which presold, the one remaining bought by an employee before their doors were opened.

I've dramatically scaled back my amazon buying too, and won't be renewing prime either. But it has nothing to do with sales tax, and more to do with changes in their overall business model in recent years - chiefly shifting from being THE price leader to a second rate price follower who only has good deals when they're clearing something out (which are still higher than liquidations from yesteryear and many today from their competitors) or a manufacturer initiated price drop or sale. Amazon has become far too complacent and possibly too corrupt (rumors of colluding with manufacturers in various industries to fix prices and thwart competition) for my money. Hopefully come BF, the deals will be good enough to still be able to justify their higher than average base shipping, or abundant enough that I can get a $35 minimum order together. As unlike store BF deals, people actually stand a chance of getting in on amazon BF deals, as long as our internet doesn't crap out due to excessive traffic.

I haven't really bought any movies in 2014. I have so many movies still to watch like 50 of them lol... so yeah. But I will be very upset when Michigan starts getting sales tax. The next movie I will buy (release date) is probably The Lego Movie

I remember the good ol' days when we Floridians didn't pay tax. Good times.

Throwback Thursday.

I remember making Amazon my source for preordering Disney BDs due to the coupons, free preorder shipping since initial preorder prices were over $25, and the tax free savings.

Then Amazon started collecting sales tax in Texas, and the Amazon coupons became less frequent for Disney preorders. And the free shipping minimum increased. I began purchasing my BDs more in store or from other online sites (as Amazon no longer offered any meaningful savings).

I have since moved to North Dakota (another tax state), and even though we only have one location for each major retailer, I still purchase most of my BDs in store or from other online sites most of the time.

Apparently, "onetoughnerd" is reviewing the bill now. It's reported he's likely to sign it.
