So my question is, would that slip be able to fit over the version that I have?
No. I just checked and the slip is just a bit too small to fit over the combo pack that includes the DVDs.

Damn, that's a shame. I have house slips for seasons 2 & 3 and need one for s1 and thought this would be perfect since it's more inexpensive than buying an entire new set just for the slip. Thanks for the help though, appreciate it.

I can confirm that the re-releases have amaray packaging. I went to Best Buy today to grab a few things. I was in the HBO section and noticed that all of their copies of Boardwalk Empire S3 on blu was in a amaray case with slip box, similar to WB's packaging for The Big Bang Theory. The case is about half the thickness of the digipak, maybe a little less. And no dvd's are included. Blu-ray and HD digital copy only. This was the only series and season that I saw in the new amaray case. Everything else on the shelf was a digipak.

I usually prefer amaray cases but, on the HBO releases, I tend to like the digipaks better. The thing I don't like is that they're doing a packaging change mid series on these. It kinda sucks for us OCD collectors. Lol

I hate the S3 packaging. Because of the clear slip, I have to display the Digipak backwards so the spin will be facing out. On the other two seasons, with the black slip, I could display them correctly on the shelf. I hate that HBO did this, they really know how to piss people off.

God I hope they don't change the UK packaging.

It's possible that first runs will still have digipaks for future seasons and amarays for the re-releases. At least that's what I'm hoping for.

That doesn't mean that the initial first releases will be following that style of packaging. HBO releases have been pretty consistent with packaging, so I'm not worried that S4 will be in a slipbox instead of the usual digipak.

Doubt it. I'm sure HBO will keep with the combo pack releases for the initial release.

Well at least it will fit with the previous seasons. It would look weird if the completed series was in two different style packages. I just wish they STOP using clear slips. I hate S3 packaging (for reasons I mentioned already) because it has a clear slip.

Another reason I went with the BB exclusive slipcover.

I have negative feelings toward BB for something they did to me in the past. I haven't shopped at one since 2004, not even online.

I also boycott B&N for similar reasons.

You're wrong. Saw them at Target today - they're digipaks.

Default True Blood

Hi, I posted this in the True Blood thread but I don't think that anybody will be able to answer it but my question links in with this thread, hope that nobody minds. I live in the UK and our True Blood blu-ray releases are just amarays with slips, I've decided to import the US digipacks because they are awesome. I was just wondering if the recent True Blood re-releases (April 1st 2014) like the recent GOT ones, are digipacks or just amarays with slips? I don't want to buy them if they are and I'll go for the combo packs (The new ones are just cheaper). I was also wondering (if they are just amarays with slips) if Season 7 will be released in a digipack format? Thanks so much if you can help

Anyone interested in the apparent re-release of season 1 and 2 that will include Dolby Atmos and new steelbook packaging?
