Great news, but only if it's better than that crappy German release.

Anyway fingered crossed for a transfer from a better master and hopefully we'll see Breakheart Pass and Chato's Land down the road as well.

The German release isn't all that crappy, it could us a a higher bitrate to help with some of the compression issues but as it stands it's pretty good.

Interested to see the results from Kino.

I want this, but how is Kino as a company? I don't own anything from them, do they do good blu-ray releases?

They're a pretty well-respected company. I own a few of their titles and I'm quite pleased with their video/audio quality. The movie is in good hands.

Kino is the german word for cinema so I suspect there wil be a link with the German company that brought you "Das Gezetz bin Ich".

you gotta love that german titles.

Agreed, it's far from "Crappy", and I'd wager all Kino is going to do is license the same master from MGM.

What is crappy about that release is the cover art...I know Kino will at least up that piece.

Yeah, I think (hope) they'll use the original theatrical artwork. The German cover was abysmal.

"Mean little ass kicker like you need a gun?!" Butt of shotgun to the taint.

Bronson is too bad ass.

Cool

Not really related, other than it's Another KINO release of a Charles Bronson film (late 2014), but "BREAKHEART PASS" is coming out now as well.

Charles-Bronson-BREAKHEART-PASS.jpg

Quote:
U.S. distributors Kino Lorber have revealed that they are preparing a Blu-ray release of Tom Gries' western Breakheart Pass (1975), starring Charles Bronson, Ben Johnson, Richard Crenna, Jill Ireland, Charles Durning, Ed Lauter, and Sally Kirkland. The release, which will be part of the distributors' new Studio Classics line, is expected to arrive on the U.S. market later this year.

Synopsis: Charles Bronson (The Magnificent Seven, Death Wish) is at his dynamic, heroic best in this suspenseful, action-packed mystery/western based on the best-selling novel by Alistair MacLean (Where Eagles Dare). At the height of the frontier era, a locomotive races through the Rocky Mountains on a classified mission to a remote Army post. But one by one, the passengers are being murdered! Their only hope is John Deakin (Bronson), a mysterious prisoner-in-transit who must fight for his life - and the lives of everyone on the train - as he uncovers a deadly secret that explodes in a torrent of shocking revelations, explosive brawls and blazing gun battles.
