Sometimes things just end for actors and they have to take whatever roles they can -- Michael Madsen, Michael Pare, Harry Hamlin, Jason Priestley -- but Hamill doesn't lack for voiceover work. Plus you'd have to think he's getting more money for the next Star Wars movie than his last one.

Ironically, I always thought that Tarentino only saved Travolta's career but it seems like he actually helped Bruce Willis' career as well since he wasnt in anything that good between 1990 and 1994 (the only decent film between Die Hard 2 and Pulp Fiction was Last Boy Scout). I never realized that the majority of Willis' films are actually pretty crummy - it seems like he made one good film every five years.

That would be nice if Tarentino could hook him up especially if he sees Hamill in Sushi Girl. I wouldnt mind seeing him play a crazy villain which Hamill seems suited to do now but I would still like him to be in some kick-ass heroic role - R-rated - let him be an uncensored bad-ass in some western or a Liam Neeson type role.

Well with Willis I think he at least got his career back on track, at least for a little while. You had Pulp Fiction, Die Hard with a Vengeance, and then Twelve Monkeys.

I hope he does. Great voice actor and I really thought he was great in the OT.

as a live action film star? No.

He's found success in voice acting and popping up in small films or small roles. He will continue to do that.

He is a great voice actor. And doesn't he still make plenty of royalties off of Star Wars, for the deal he originally made?

Those small films are all practically unwatchable amateurish straight-to-video movies. It would be nice if he was cast in at least a professionally-made respectable indie film.

Look at the trailers for his other movies. They majority of them look pretty painful but that's not his fault - it's the production's amateurish-looking fault.

For anyone curious to see what Hamill's live-action movie filmography has been like post-Return of the Jedi, here ya go:

Besides Sushi Girl, Jay and Silent Bob, and Village of the Damned, Slipstream and Commander Hamilton look sort of tempting to see - pretty funny to see Peter Stormare in some Bruce Willis hero role. Did anyone see these films?

And has anyone seen Hamill's Fall of the Eagles with Christopher Lee? This WW2 film sounds good but I cant find a trailer online.

When you fall, you fall hard. Christian Slater works steadily, but he was happy just to make a studio movie even if it was a nothing role in Bullet to the Head.

Man, I remember seeing him in that and being surprised. "He's actually in a studio-produced film?" He's a pretty good actor, I don't know what happened there.

Hamill was also in John Carpenter's 1993 horror anthology Body Bags.

curious, has Hamill come out an said somewhere that he's not getting a fair shake in Hollywood when it comes to work? I'm wondering why it seems to be thought that this is the case. perhaps he has just the amount and type of work he wants. it's not like he's living on the streets or something. I think he has been great in everything he's been in.

The breakout movie doesn't make the actor, it's being smart about the roles offered because of said breakout movie. Imagine if instead of Indiana Jones, Witness and so forth, Harrison Ford made Yor the Hunter from the Future, Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn and Tarzan the Ape Man instead.

Does anyone know about the roles Hamill received after Jedi - ones he went for and got rejected or ones that he rejected himself?

I think alot of to be honest is that the car accident he had messed his face up some, so he didn't have the same look he had while filming episode lV. You can clearly see that he looks way different in Empire and Return of the Jedi than he did in A New Hope. That kind of stuff makes a difference in Hollywood unfortunately. Just like Jennifer Grey. She went in for a Rhinoplasty surgery and that was the end of her career.
