Since the prequels the working titles have always been a simple "Star Wars: Episode .." The Ancient Fear actually makes sense in my opinion. Something evil thought to be extinct many decades is now showing signs of their return. Sidious never actually mastered the technique of immortality, he told Anakin that they have to work together to unlock the secret. It was Darth Plagueis who taught Sidious, so it's possible he didn't die when Sidious tried to kill him. Max von Sydow is a good candidate for Darth Plagueis.

if it is Plagueis where was he for the past 60-70 years lol you would have thought that he would ahve shown up and overthrew the emperor or something.

If Sidious did something to put Plagueis under without totally killing him completely, maybe it took time to recover? Or perhaps now that the Jedi Order has been rebuilt and there are more Jedi running around someone else turned and awoke him?

Or, perhaps something to do with the race of Sith?

Either way, I am really excited about the new films. No idea what we're going to get, I just hope it's fun and exciting.

I hope the after credit scene is Boba Fett being burped up by the Sarlac and then he flies off.

Perhaps Plagueis and Sauron are one in the same.

It would be funny if the new films were based around a throwaway line from the prequels considering the prequels were based around a few throwaway lines in the OT.

Maybe Christopher Lee shows up and reveals that Count Dooku was also Saruman the White. And the Ancient Fear is a magical little ring.

I think that Disney will be interested in cross-pollinating their franchises, thus The Ancient Fear will be Thanos wielding the Infinity Gauntlet

Actually the prequels often, at least in part, conflicted with the few throw away lines from the OT.

Not nearly as much as the OT conflicted with throw away lines from the OT itself. But nobody ever complains about that... because fans treat the OT like a favorite son that could do no wrong, while treating the PT like a bastard child who could do no right.

Heh...."from a certain point of view". Lucas was retconning his own goddamned story from Empire onwards, so it's no surprise that several aspects of the PT don't jive with the OT.

My dad just called me and asked me to turn to FX because he is watching Super 8 and thought there was something wrong with the channel because of all the lens flares. He said he would change the channel and it was the only one "doing that". I explained to him that it was the same director who did the last two Star Trek films and he said "oh, that guy." I then told him he was directing the new Star Wars film and he said that hopefully someone shoves the flashlight up his ass before they start filming. My dad is 62 and not up on film. I just thought it was funny.

This sounds completely made up.
