If it is, I hope Scream got something in return will announce it on Monday as well. It seems likely considering Anchor Bay would probably receive the majority of the profits on this (since they're releasing it). Scream would want some extra incentive to give AB H2 and H3. Just a guess though.

Perhaps Scream's giving Anchor Bay H2 and H3 for the Phantasm films?

With all the studios on Facebook or some social media it is possible that these studios all contacted each other to make this huge set. I think its a great idea and always promote studios working together to do something special for the fans and collectors. To me this is worth the double dip

If Scream or AB picked up 6-8, then it'd basically mean three studios have the rights to the ten films (AB, Scream and Sony for the two Rob Zombie films). So Sony likely licensed them out.

I only want the new release of part 6 with the producer's cut. I wonder what are the chances of getting a seperate release.

Seeing how it hasn't happened with the Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th films yet... it doesn't look good. They like to make us pay and pay and pay again.

If Anchor Bay actually wants to do something nice for fans, they'd do separate releases for 6-8 and not basically say, if you want them, you have to fork out the $ for a box set. If they don't, then you know it's just about gouging us for more money. Let's hope they've changed their ways.

Anchor Bay is a shadow of it's former self. Although, they have always pimped Halloween out. Where is that footage that was discovered years ago? The alternate ending with Michael dying and being put in an ambulance? The outtakes with Nick Castle joking around on the set? Those would actually be new features..not recycled garbage.

It's funny how John Carpenter didn't want to do a sequel to the original, but had he kept the original ending, the movie really would have been stand alone.

From what I've heard, they don't wanna pony up the cash for that footage.

I'm only interested in the producer's cut also. I own most of the other releases and really don't want to put out more money on this franchise. Give me the producer's cut separately and i'll be happy.

Wow.. I never EVER heard about that. And Anchor Bay doesn't want to foot the bill to get that footage? What a bunch of cheap bastards... just mentioning the "never before seen alternate ending!" would sell boatloads of HALLOWEEN blu-rays, now with an even newer color timing! Because whatever, f-ck you!

I bet there are some people at Scream Factory and or Anchor Bay that are none too pleased right now that Amazon spoiled this bit of news.

My preorder still shows in my account, much like the Tourist Trap preorder business. Hope it sticks.

Which is why I said before on another thread that they are greedy as hell. They have been pimping out dozens of Halloween editions on VHS, DVD and now Blu-Ray. You would think that they could afford to spring for some actual exciting new features like the lost footage.

This lost footage was revealed in 2006, I think. It also includes alternate takes of scenes, Steadycam test footage and other outtakes. Supposedly, there is no audio track for the lost footage. But they could actually be creative and use music cues and even bring in some of the actors to ADR the footage. This is Anchor Bay we are talking about, though...they were too busy releasing more Halloween editions since that footage was found.

Well, it could be that Scream Factory got the Dimension films. If so, they would release them separately... Even if some time has passed.

Or if it is Lionsgate who has them now, just think. They are finally playing ball.

Anchor Bay getting them is literally worst case scenario. I hope Anchor Bay only does the box set.

Sure am glad that slashers are bringing companies together though. Warner/Paramount with Friday the 13th, Anchor Bay/Scream Factory with Halloween, and MGM/Universal with Child's Play. If ROTLD is next, I will be happy.

I just wish they would finish the single releases for NOES and F13th.
