Yes, the Antonioni films that I've listed above are the only ones that I have seen, so I have a lot of catching up to do. It's probably just as well, though, since I like to spend a lot of time with each one after I see it.

Hmm Like Someone In Love is out tomorrow - wonder what use price will be on Amazon, pretty bare release, seen stuff similar for like £15 odd quid.

Wish it had more special features and stuff, hopefully transfer will be great, but won't be hard to get a decent transfer as its not exactly old.

My copy of Picnic blu should ship soon, can't wait to see packaging and artwork and transfer quality

Just get the UK release. It's pretty much identical in every way except for it doesn't have a booklet.

It's £7.39 at Base

Yeah I probs will, great cover as well - but would be nice to have it in my Criterion Collection as well, might just get the UK release and when I see CC version cheap grab that.

Normal Blurays just don't seem special since i've been buying Criterions lol

The Return is a great film, had the pleasure to watch it, though only on my laptop during a train journey last year. I found it to be very engrossing and will visit it again one day.

for Antonioni, I've seen the usual suspects except for L'eclisse. I liked Blow Up quite a bit when I saw it and although it's been a while, I think it is safe to say that the vibe is pretty different than his other stuff.

I haven't appreciated him as much as others, but his films all deserve multiple viewings

Is L'eclisse definitely plastic case or is it box set?

Was it through a marketplace seller or direct from Amazon?
I notice they have a few from the marketplace fulfilled by Amazon. That might be the issue.

It's avalible from Moviemail for £6.99. I'm not sure how much their postage to the US is though.
Moviemail

EDIT: Postage to the US is £3 so just shy of $17 in total(I think).

What are you basing this statement on? Often, the studio has very specific requirements for what the images include and how it is presented. For example, with Sweet Smell of Success there were rules about the relative size of the characters' heads on the cover.

I find it amusing Saul Bass who made some of the most iconic posters wasn't allowed to do any of the design work for his own films.

Boyhood is an IFC film. Criterion has a great relationship with both Linklater and the studio. It's such a huge project that I don't see why any other studio should be trusted with the home video release. Hence, why I added it.

Hard Eight has been a long rumored title by Criterion, so I added it to the database.

Thought I'd checked MM, but maybe it was just Zavvi (don't stock it), don't know for sure, thanks for the tip.

here is the artist's web site:
work.iamalwayshungry.com

I don't know this artist, but based on a quick look at his (her?) web site, it seems extremely doubtful that he had anything to do with the making of the film being that it is nearly a 15 year old film. and if I'm wrong (maybe he's Cuarón's buddy. ?!,) then I'll admit as much, but the artist does stuff for EA and Adidas and I guess now s**tty covers for Criterion.

my problem with it, outside of it being ugly, is that it demands subjective artistic interpretation itself. like I said in response to shade4pain - if Cuarón feels that it melds with his vision of the film, then I guess it is fine.

I'm just not impressed.

It appears his cover design is outside his comfort zone - its not his style, he's a great designer, but not with covers, yet.

Which is a shame, cause he is talented, but oh well.
