Are you using your area attacks; Fire 2 or Ice 2? If so, probably just the tank... a lot new tanks don't keep the arrgo locks on the group of enemies, only the target they are currently fighting.

Early rotations should be... Open with Thunder, then go Fire x 5 (or till drainned) > Transpose > Thunder > Blizzard x 3 > Repeat. Just watch out to see if your tank is holding all arrgos or just the one he is fighting.

Feel free cast sleep too on the groups none main targets.

Also remember each job has 2 additional classes they can pull abilities from. In this case you also need to level ACN to 34 as well as leveling ARC to 34.
Black Mage is my main char and literally the easiest class to master in the game IMO. Summoner is also a very easy rotation to learn and one of the more underrated classes in the game. They can put out some serious DPS.

The last dungeon I was in I was using my are attacks and wound up dead pretty soon after that.

Just in general play I tend to open with Thunder then Blizzard > Fire > Blizzard > Fire repeat so I didn't drain my MP and I carried that in to my first couple Dungeons since I didn't know better. I would try and wait for the Tank to attack a target the start attacking that target too, I'd notice the Healer start to be attacked and then switch straight to that enemy.

Once the PSN is back up I'll start practicing that rotation.

Don't worry about draining your mp... once you hit the enemy hard with your maxed fire spells and are out of mp, then just transpose and your MP will be maxed out in seconds. You will do far more damage this way than switching off. Give it a try.

I usually wait for a tank to attack. Or if the tank is being a wimp, then I will just starting marking the enemies and let the tank run to the #1.

SMN is not underrated lol, you need to do more endgame. SMN, BLM, BRD are the 3 preferred orders of DPS classes. MNK and DRG also do some sick dmg but endgame they are very hard to use on Garuda/Titan EX. Not sure how bad it is in Leviathan for them a SMN should have about 210-220 DPS Before adding in its pet. Add another 60-70 for the Pet takes the SMN to about 285-300 DPS continuous. If a BLM can stand still and not have to move I have seen BLM put out about 300-320 as well. BRD the best I was able to achieve was 270 DPS and that was without my coil ilvl90 boots.

Here you go Merry Christmas

Quote:
Opener: Precast T3 -> F3 -> Fire (until around 700 mana) -> B3 -> T3 -> Repeat Phase Repeat Phase: F3 -> Fire (until around 700 mana) -> B3 -> T3 -> Repeat Phase

Always use Firestarter and Thundercloud Procs.

For AoE: AoE (4+): F3 -> F2 -> Flare -> Transpose -> AoE AoE (4+) Burst: F3 -> F2 -> Flare -> Convert -> Swiftcast -> Flare -> Transpose -> AoE

Firestarter: Use instantly, if you get firstarter while you are trying to cast B3 then use B3 -> T3 -> B3/Scathe -> F3 depending on your next tick+spell speed.

Thundercloud: Use instantly unless you are at under 1300 mana with no firestart proc. If under 1300 with no Firestarter and Thundercloud then Fire(until around 300 mana) -> B3 -> T3 -> B3 -> F3

Stat wise: Accuracy Cap (435 for coil REQUIRED T1-5 not sure on T6-9) > Int (Undisputable) Then: Spell Speed > Crit > Determination (Under debate)

Do not forget to transpose out of Umbral 3 into Astral 1 if you have a firestarter proc sitting ready to go.

I think I just managed to log into Square & delete my account! I really hope so.

Already filed a ticket & just need to double check it's not on the service list on PS3.

I re-bought Login Fantasy today.

I do agree on DRG and MNK being a hinderance on many of the post game fights - especially primals. Most players just aren't quick/skilled enough to dodge on duties like Titan Ex. I prefer my SMN for fights where there's a ton of moving around due to the dots.

Unfortunately I won't be able to get a subscription soon cause I'm moving but I had quick question?

I already finished my character & went through intro cut scene.

My question is can you disable entire HUD off the screen? I'd like to do this for screenshots. I didn't remember any option to do this on PS3.

I found the HUD option menu. I see you can shrink the size by % but didn't see an off option there.

Thanks n advance!

Yes you can and yes you could in the PS3 version as well. I believe it's hold L1 and then click the touchpad. If that's not it, then it's hold L1 and then hit Options.

Been a long time since the last post. I've managed to get BLM to Lvl 50 now although I've not finished the main story yet, I think I'm right at the end. Just done the second raid where Cid joins in on his Mecha.

Been leveling up mining and weaving too around lvl 30 on both as well as Archer.

When it comes to selling is it best to up the asking price since the game usually says most stuff only sells for 1gill but I see most people selling stuff way over priced.

I've filled up my two retainers so I'm stuck for space now and don't really know what's worth keeping and what's worth selling/throwing away.

Most stuff is just drops from random fights a lot of which I've used during my weaving. But I have a lot of old weapons/gear as well as Loot from Dungeons that I've Greed'd but have no need for.

Is it best to keep the stuff for when I decide to start a new class or just get rid of it all and just buy stuff as and when I need it?

Seen the patch update today of what's coming from 2.28 too

Quote:
Here is a brief overview of the Patch 2.28 content that was shown
  • during the Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XIV.
  • The continuation of the Saga of the Zodiac
  • Adjustments to the behavior of pets while jumping
  • New objectives will be added to the Challenge Log
  • The introduction of the Sightseeing Log
  • New filtering and sorting options for the Expert Delivery user interface
  • Adjustments to PvP in the Wolves' Den
  • The ability to register for Good King Moggle Mog XII (Extreme) and Leviathan (Extreme) via the Duty Finder
  • The Echo will be applied to pets
  • Filtering options added to the Crafting Log
  • The ability to display the map from the Gathering Log
  • Durability will increase to 199% when repairing with a Disciple of the Hand class
  • Auto-sort of the party list when undertaking duties
  • The ability to participate in High-Level and Expert Duty Roulettes in a party
  • Adjustments made to the player commendation system
  • Equipment preview feature
  • Adjustments to the party finder
  • FATE progress will be displayed on the map
  • Teleporting via the Aetheryte icon on the map
  • Addition of text commands to clear the chat log
  • A list of text commands will be added
  • The ability to dismount via controller by pressing L1+R1 (LB+RB) at the same time
  • Titles will be displayed on a player's name plate
  • The ability to skip previously viewed cutscenes
BLM will also be getting buffed in patch 2.30 which should be fun. I'd like the lvl cap raised too. So much wasted EXP since I hit 50 quite a fair few quests from the end of the game.

Loads more info over on the official forum http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...IV-Q-A-Updates

The world serves no purpose, I stand in toll form party instant port to dungeon where the community is so vile that if I dont speedrun perfectly some ass sits there and talks smack. Then if the party sucks and i just leave I am stuck with a 30 minute penalty for leaving and the party sucking.

Gil still serves no purpose and the entire thing of overmelding is restricted by the system which puts caps on what you can do

I need a Free Company for what?

The weekly coil lockouts, yes let me pay to play a game I do do content 1x per week before im locked out and cannot progress even if what i wanted didnt drop.

Hey I have 10 friends sorry 2 of you cant do shit this week cause only 8 of us can run

You don't seem to have a very good attitude yourself; I wouldn't be surprised if the vitriol you encounter is self-made. For example, quitting in the middle of an instance is probably the most despicable thing you can do.

I don't know what you're doing with crafting, but gil serves a great purpose for getting materials that I don't feel like farming for. Exactly what's bad about limiting the system? Limits are what keep the game balanced.

To form friendships with people so you can have more fun doing instances with people you know and communicate well with instead of dealing with random people who have no ability to make friends because of their shitty attitude.

Another balancing complaint? You do realize the point is to prevent some players from getting too far ahead of everyone else, right? You know, this game has a lot to offer, if you've somehow managed to max out every class and have nothing to do but endgame, why don't you, ya know, not play it? At some point, there will be a major expansion and the caps will be lifted. For everyone who isn't glued to the game 24/7, there's still plenty of content right now.

Varmintx you know nothing about myself or my attitude in game. I dont enjoy running a dungeon constantly and wiping to demon wall running AK because someone decides they want to spiritbond in dungeons.

I dont enjoy constantly wiping to Extreme Primal's because someone is incompetent and cant memorize a simple pattern.

I am aware of the point the lockout servers, but at least set turns 6-9 coil the same way CT is setup where I can run it as much as I want but obtain an item 1x per week, at least then i can assist my friends in running the dungeon so we can all play together.

Between August and December I maxed out all crafts and jobs to 50 it really did not take a lot of time. I also had 2 jobs by 2.20 that were almost fully ilvl 90 in Paladin and Bard. I was working on my Monk and Drg when I quit and that was damn near ilvl 83. I had almost all relics as well as almost all Extreme Primal weapons.

The game hands you everything with little to no effort if you know what to do. You accuse me of being a bad person when I did nothing but want shit to run efficient. Yes I kicked ppl who could not dodge after 2-3 wipes, Yes I kicked ppl who had low DPS because frankly I am not going to waste my time or fun on someone who wont listen. Winning is a 2 way street, if the person does not put forth the time or effort to better themselves why shouldn't I be able to leave a dungeon run instead of waste my time.
