Brazil Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return 3D Blu-ray (2013) [Region Locked / Free]

I saw Legends of Oz yesterday. It really does have beautiful and imaginative scenery. The 3d is gorgeous and looks strong throughout. Unfortunately, they've not releasing this on 3d blu-ray much like the Free Birds fiasco. Why can't they just release 3d blu-ray as a bonus? Does it cost them that much extra just to include the 3d version?

I don't see a listing for this movie anywhere. It JUST came out in theaters and you are already proclaiming this won't be released in 3D?

Thanks for the update on the 3D. Good to hear you liked the 3D and scenery. I was able to catch the 3D preview and it looked good in 3D.

While I agree every 3D release in theaters should also get a 3D version on blu ray, releasing a 3D movie takes a few more detailed steps than a 2D film since they have to prepare the disc and encode the 3D aspect; costing more, but marketing a separate 3D version is probably an additional cost as well that they probably don't have the budget for, or don't want to take the risk if this in fact won't get a 3D release on blu ray. It's still in theaters, so it's uncertain if it won't have a 3D version yet.

It would be nice if they included it as an alternate bonus on the 2D disc, and do what they did with Dredd 2D/3D as a single disc. They have the 3D already rendered (two film's worth of 3D for each camera), so why not use it?

I loved this movie even though it was trashed badly by many. The 3D was amazing. There is one shot with a hand coming out of the screen which looked great.

So, this isn't getting a 3D release? Pretty stupid to release it to theaters in 3D and not on Blu-ray. My opinion though, which rarely matters.

Though it's labeled as a "box office smash hit" ....

With due respect, how do you know this isn't getting a 3D blu release (although I tend to believe it won't... as you mentioned referencing Free Birds)??

It comes from a small release studio (which is how it got Delgo'ed in the theaters in the first place...Suckers!), so unless a major distributor picks it up for video, I'm guessing it won't get a 3D release any more than Free Birds or Nutcracker 3D did.
At least we're not in Instant Industry Panic mode about it this time.

Because the 2d blu-ray already has a definitive release date of August 26th. In light of that concrete release date, there is no mention of a 3d release.

Link? I still have not seen an official announcement for this. Amazon doesn't even have a listing for a 2D version yet.

The dates on blu-ray.com can be put up by anyone. Aug. 26th might not be the date especially since the studio hasnt officially announced it yet.

Considering how badly this flopped you'd think they'd be trying to make anything they can back on it.

Type in legends of oz 3d blu ray in the link. Shows a 3D version called ''Magical World Of Oz'' coming 11/25. All regions. The real question is: is this the same movie as Legends of Oz??

I goggled magical world of oz trailer and it showed as legends of oz. So...me thinks there may be a 3D version of this coming out after all (French release). And it's listed all regions

Free Birds and Nutcracker got a 3d blu-ray release in Australia. The 3d in nutcracker was truly abysmal (even worse then the film), I have not watched Free Birds though and have no interest in it.

It is not the 3d aspect, it is the film that doesn't interest me. Yogi Bear also does not interest me. Wreck it Ralph was a fun film though (being a gamer since I can remember probably helps).

Taygan, I can definitely confirm that it is indeed Legends of Oz coming out this November on 3d blu-ray at amazon.fr They just posted the cover art. I have a membership at amazon. Can I automatically order from amazon.fr or do I have to register again?
