flamezmack,

Are those screen captures, or taken with a camera on a display? If the latter, what is the display and camera?

Jason

Ric,

The shots look great! How was the movie and PQ overall? I am on the fence about buying this or saving for my surrounds. I might just rent...

I Netflixed Rambo (2008). I'd probably give it a 7 out of 10 on PQ. It had soft focus and was shot in a very hazy drab environment.

I was very dissapointed in the PQ of Rambo, I thought it was my TV but your pics confirmed it. Inconsistent PQ, AQ was great, it lacked the detail I have been accustomed to blu-ray, just my .02

I have heard great PQ reviews, I may try another disc.

I'd probably give the PQ and AQ an 8 out of 10. I've probably watched the movie a half dozen times over the years, but I forgot how gory it was. Lots of bodies torn apart. The story and acting are actually pretty good.
I was speaking of the new one Ric. The one you have shots from?

I thought a few of his shots looked very sharp?

I feel on similar lines of Entertainment72. The caps look a bit underwhelming to me and many audiophiles in AVS aren't too happy with the SQ.

It's more confusing to us in the UK because here the first movie has always been called Rambo with First Blood being a sub-title, "Rambo: First Blood"

LOL. Sorry. It was late and I watched a lot of Rambo movies. The Rambo (2008) PQ is average. It is shot in a very hazy, smoky, drab environment which affects the PQ substantially. The cameras are always moving which makes it hard to get a sharp still image. The focus technique is very narrow. Even a close up of a face will have only part of the face focused while the other parts are soft. There's a bit of dirt and marks on the print -- which surprised me some for a newer film. The AQ is good, but is not as dynamic as other newer films. Overall, I'd say it's somewhat average.

PQ on Rambo (2008) is amazing giving the location. It's not filmed in a crappy Hollywood studio with tons of CGI fake background (Indy 4 anyone..?)

It's exactly the same as it was in theater. I little soft but yet detailed.

The Soundtrack is the same that in theater. Calm in the start but at the end it's just AWESOME when Sly shoot with the 50cal!

I couldn't agree more.. Rambo (2008) seemed so soft to me.. I guess I've been so accustomed to such fine detail and focus that if its not I begin to think the picture is bad.
