**SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: New Month-Long Sale & Online Interactive Event!**

Our “Summer of Fear” celebration heats up this month with a great sale and a fantastic online webcast event (one that includes the legendary John Carpenter) that we’ve cooked up especially for our fans. Here’s the scoop:

• The Webcast Schedule:
- Friday, June 6th (7PM PST): Assault on Precinct 13 presented by Director John Carpenter
- Friday, June 13th (7PM PST): Night of the Demons presented by Director Kevin Tenney and actress Amelia Kinkade
- Friday June 20th (7PM PST): Witchboard presented by Director Kevin Tenney.

and like NOES, the lead villain(s) become centre stage and the fan favourite, just set it different locations killing different people you don't care about.....we all like Jason and cry little for Tommy Jarvis.
1-4 great and a constant decline unfortunately. I haven't bothered 5 onwards.

To continue the NOES comparison, H5 - H(?) became a sort of "Freddy's Nightmares: the Series", where we get off-topic stories about some character tracking down some eerie mystery of the sort of type you get in cheesy direct-videos, lots of cheap flash-edited Jacob's Laddder-wannabe "Is it real, or is it hallucination?" fakeouts, and then Pinhead cameos at the end to make a lot of poetic wrap-up. All the way up to the required Halloween:Resurrection style "Internet sequel", and finally the "New replacement-character reboot".

because of all the people whose lives he'd ruined from his corrupted drug addiction...I've always used that movie as a lesson in how you can identify scripts from writers who've just come out of Twelve-Step.)

I hope you are right. I haven't seen Ravenous on any format but those screenshots don't even look HD to me.

Shout usually works with the masters they are given, unless they are granted the budget to do a new transfer (like with Sleepaway Camp, The Fog and Day of the Dead). In this case, it's a really dated transfer (not necessarily an upscale) from Fox, for a film they were unlikely to revisit themselves any time soon. The exact same thing happened with Twilight Time's release of Titus. So no, one bad transfer does not mean that all transfers on the next "two months" of releases will also be the same quality.

The Ginger Snaps release will depend on the transfer Shout is given for that one. If it's a good transfer, then barring any further compression issues, it should be fine.

Ok, i'm a bit more optimistic after reading this. Though, I was under the impression Shout! had a lot of money to play with? Doing brand new transfers for every film they release would be very difficult and time consuming, I can imagine. But surely they have a right to decide whether or not a HD Master is worthy enough for them to release the film? Unless it's contractual, I can't imagine somebody over at Shout! would OK the Ravenous release.

Who's supplying Shout! with the HD Master of Ginger Snaps ? I don't think it's a major studio..

Shout! Factory certainly has more money at their disposal than, say, Synapse or Scorpion Releasing, which has allowed them to obtain the rights to a lot of the higher profile titles in their catalog. But they aren't like any of the big studios; they don't have a huge budget to play with (with plenty of what they do have going to those higher profile titles, like the upcoming Halloween box set), meaning they can't just create new transfers from scratch for every title they put out. Sometimes, this works out just fine. Then there are times that this hasn't worked out so well. The Bruce Lee debacle is one notable instance (although they did work to rectify that).

I'm not sure whom SF licensed Ginger Snaps from, so there really won't be any way to 100% know the final outcome until reviews start coming in, although if we can take what cakefactory said as a clue, barring any compression issues, it should be fine.

Kentucky for mostly everything (same place orders come from for Blowitoutahere, Deepdiscount, etc). All the orders I've gotten with posters have come from Indianapolis, Indiana.

Hmm, I see. Well it's like you said, we'll have to wait and see it out. The fact that there no major distributor is a good thing, I think. Not long left now. I'm hoping that they spent some money on this and went through a 2K transfer for this but I know that's 50/50. If they did a 4K transfer i'd lick the scum off Shout!'s boots whenever they wanted.

Lets hope they've done the film a service.

What is the rumor with Burnt Offerings, was that to be a Scream Factory release or thru Twilight Time or another distributor. Can't recall what thread it was mentioned on. (Could have been wishful thinking) Id love a BLU release.
