Looking really forward to picking this up despite how uncomfortable I was the first time I saw it.
I think the reversible is an alternate version of the same artwork except that you see the woman's naked boobs. Woo-hoo!

Did I guess right, that this is another Rick Melton cover? It just reeks tacky Arrow Video of old to me...

OK - Read the back cover and indeed it is.

Grindhouse, you suck. I hope you don't use his crap on the eventual US release of 'The Beyond', because I wouldn't be able to flip it around this time.

Not all Scream Factory covers are cartoony. The worst in my opinion is From Beyond, which is dreadful. It looks like a bad comic book cover. I hate those cartoony covers also. But many of their covers have the look of classic poster-art from the 70's or 80's. Of course people have an issue with the artist of some of those covers, regarding plagiarism, and that's a different topic. I agree I hate those comic-book style covers too, but thankfully they're not all like that. I admit I like the Day of the Dead cover, even though it is cartoony.

People complaining about this new artwork are missing the intention. It is very much in style with old 80's horror posters for these films.

Here's an original poster for Cannibal Ferox:

Very similar in style to the new cover for Cannibal Holocaust.

Ho my gosh... Cannibal Holocaust on Blu-ray?!!!

To buy, or not to buy... That movie was disturbing, but I think I NEED it!

EDIT: Ordered!

The intention may be there, but the end result most definitely isn't a success.

I've always hated when people assume Comic Book covers aren't works of art in their own right. I'd take nearly any Comic cover any day of the week over the best Horror movie poster the industry has to offer. I get where you were going with your comment, but comparing Screams illustrated covers to comic books is really like comparing apples and oranges. Yes their both illustrations, but so is a Picasso if we're going to generalize. Tell me this isn't better than most Scream Factory covers and it wouldn't be an amazing movie one sheet.

Well go buy comic books then, if you like the artwork so much. I don't like comic book art or comic books, so I don't want to buy comic books or look at their covers. I like movies, and these covers look like comic books. I'll still buy them if I want the film, not a huge deal, but I can still voice my opinion that this artwork sucks, just like Scream's commissioned artwork sucks.

And as far as that artwork image you submitted, I have no idea what that is, and I really don't care as it looks like just another superhero and that kills my interest immediately right there. Ya, I can't stand superheroes, either. I'll agree with you, though, that artwork looks more mature and legit than any of Scream Factory's cartoony covers.

I dont think so, its probably going to be the Italian poster artwork like their release of The Big Gundown was.
The tits might be under the slipcover though

I don't think so. From the product listing for Cannibal Holocaust :

Quote:
- Shocking reversible cover with original art by notorious illustrator Rick Melton
Unless crappy Rick Melton has done his own version of the original Italian poster, it's going to be the mediocre cover with a boob version on the reverse Even if Melton did his own version of the original art, it would still be mediocre.

Corruption, another Melton artwork, had tits on the reverse.

I think it's been mentioned somewhere that the reverse would be the uncensored one

BOOOOOOOOOOOO(bs)
Oh well, only thing I'm not too crazy about with this artwork is the abundance of orange in it. Luckily the rest of the disc will be perfect

Yes, it's stated on the DiabolikDVD pre-order page that the reverse cover is the uncensored version. Sorry, I can't put the link here, that page has a "restricted access" at my workplace!
