I would say the same for me - lots that I just didn't care to see like Casablanca and then ended up liking. But I wouldn't say there was any movie I hated and then suddenly liked once I saw it - if I don't like a movie that badly, I probably won't ever watch it. There are more than a few that I didn't think I was going to like but gave a chance and yep, didn't like them!

A lot of Spike Lee's early work. I let my opinions of the guy's political and social opinions influence my opinion on watching his films. Once I actually sat down and watch them, they're actually pretty damn good.
On a slightly less serious note, I pretty much sword of Dreamworks movies after Bee Movie. Much to my surprise I ended up really really loving Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon. Last edited by JavaJulien; 06-04-2014 at 04:47 PM. |

X-Men First Class's marketing was pretty terrible but it ended up being my second favorite x-men film.
Wolf on Wall Street, I am tired of Leo but it was too good not to enjoy. Captain America the first one. It looked so bad and I loved it, and the opposite happened for winter solider. Was stoked to see it and hated everything about it. The Watchmen. I had never read the comic when I saw the trailer. I thought the cgi looked horrible, the costumes were corny, and the billy corgan soundtrack certainly didn't help. Watched the film and was amazed. Sin City. My friend had to drag me to the theatre after how boring the trailer looked, I'm glad he did. Wow, it looks like I just don't like the marketing of most comic book films, even if I do enjoy some ha. |

My story is a little bit different.
I never wanted to watch Harry Potter, never read the books and was just disinterested. I conceded to the majority and we watched the movie. I still didn't enjoy it. The following summer I worked in a job where I had more time on my hands then I knew what to do with so I was like, what the hell I'ma read Harry Potter. I got so involved I read book 1 in a little over a day. Then book 2 and 3 and 4 and so on. I think book 5 was not out yet and by this time I was fully immersed. I decided to watch the movie again and I couldn't get enough of it. I bought the movie and watched it over and over and over again. All my friends thought I was going bananas and gave me grief about it for YEARS! Cheers, CC- |

I had no interest in Catching Fire. Disliked the first Hunger Games film, thought it was massively overrated and that a sequel would be just as bad... I was wrong.
I finally watched Catching Fire less than a month ago and it really blew me away. Probably due to my extremely low expectations, but still... the movie is superior in every way to its predecessor. |
