No, it is a smoothing feature available on 120Hz TVs. Sony calls it Motion Flow, Samsung's is Movie Plus, Sharp's is TrueD, and Toshiba's is Film Stabilization.

No, it's a feature that's available on a 120hz set. You can turn it off and it still refreshes at 120 hz. Just because the set is 120hz doesn't mean the motion feature is active.

as far as i recall motionflow is sony's term for 120hz

the ones from samsung and toshiba you're referring to I know to be judder reduction
