Those movies aren't very good.
But they're not all bad! I've never read the books. I like the longer version of DaVinci Code on Blu because it feels less frantic and scattered and more like a thriller novel on film than the version I saw in the theater. Some cool ideas, neat surprises but a lot of silly hokum too. I like Angels and Demons, particularly the opening and the big ending, but on repeat viewings the whole body of the movie has this Think - Point - Run - Arrive Too Late - Repeat structure to it that leaves it feeling very repetitive and also silly. At least they're going for something a little different than most event movies these days do. I'll give them credit for that. And I certainly don't dread the idea of a new one.
