Custom Cover Art Thread

Since EuphoricFX has been down, I have only been piddling around a little with new covers. I was inspired however, when I got a look at the magnificent new Blu-ray edition of The Man From Laramie from Twilight Time. Like so many other Twilight Time releases before it, this is an incredible disc wrapped in an incredibly uninspired cover. Not a lot of elements to work from, so this took a bit longer than usual, but I have come up with actually two covers that I want to put on my shelf.

The first is based on a nice looking Italian poster that I found...



Second version is based on a piece of art I found that looks to be based on the photo Twilight Time used for their cover. Although the image is essentially the same, I find the painted art to be far more interesting...

Criterion's recent Blu-ray edition of Douglas Sirk's 1955 potboiler All That Heaven Allows is about as close to IB Technicolor as I have seen a video transfer come. A feast for the eyes, and an old fashioned Hollywood melodrama for the soul. Here's my cover for the disc, with and without Criterion logos on the front...

I've been doing some rethinking on my Cap cover. I've been trying to properly frame the IMAX poster for a slipcover but its composition didn't really seem right for the dimensions, so I decided to do a custom composition. Here's what I have so far:

Interesting development: While the current patron of this series bows out after the next cover (Family Plot), he has agreed to let further such covers for other Hitchcock films be produced if anyone else wants to commission them.

So, anyone wishing to commission me for Hitchcocks not already included in the series may contact me in that regard. I would ask that they agree to share the covers freely like the inital client has done. Who knows, maybe through "crowdfunding" covers for every Hitchcock can be made available to all?

Could you possibly so a "Strangers on a Train" that is more akin to those Universal covers, or well anything close to the original art, anything is better than the current official artwork. Thanks man, and I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on the final versions of these Hitch covers as I despise the officially released covers from Universal.
