Talking Detroit Red Wings 2008 Stanley Cup Champions

Congratulations Red wings!!!!!!!
The city of Detroit needed this. Thank you for bringing the Cup back home to HOCKEYTOWN with alot of class. As Mickey Redmond says "How can you have a bad day after something like this happens?" Congratulations to Zetterberg on a well deserved Conn Smyth trophy. The hockey world really got a treat seeing the amount of talent displayed in these finals. Congratulations to to the Pittsburgh Penguins for making this finals series really entertaining. Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy. GREAT JOB WINGS!!!!!!!!!

Congrats Wings!

Only issue I have with it is giving it to Chelios as one of the first folks to get it, sure he's an icon, and sure before he got injured he was a good player, however, he didn't play a game during the final stretch.

Minor issue at best.

It's finally back home ( born and raised in Detroit - currently living in Fla.) Now its time for the Pistons to shake it up just enough....!!!!! I remember going to a Red Wings game at the Olympia on Grand River (that's where they played before they got the Joe Louis Arena - actually they went from the Olympia, to Cobo Hall, then to Joe Louis)! Never forget it!!!! Go Wings!!!!!

I have a picture of the Olimipia rink. They actually had what looks like chicken wire around the top of the boards instead of glass....Old picture, everyone wore hats then and there were men at ice level smoking cigars!!!!! Funny.....

I cannot express my joy right now! This was definately 3 years in the making for D-town. They have dominated the NHL since the Lockout, when everyone said they would fall off because of the salary cap. Holland and Illitch proved them all wrong. NO TEAM deserves this more, imo!

Gotta give it up to Babcock for putting the right matchups out there!

Chelios told the media last night he will be back next season.

I thought he would retire.

He's still 'high on life' {I think it's pain killers myself} from the win last night.

He'll probably pull what 1/2 of the roster of the Ducks did last season and delay... and delay... and delay... and delay until the trade deadline and THEN decide to come back.

I HAD respect for the Ducks {at least some of them F**k you Pronger} before that, now the entire team can rot as far as I'm concerned.

Cheli retire? You should know better than that.

I have to give props to the Penguins for making this an exciting series and never giving up the last two games. They're going to be scary for many years to come.

It be interesting coming year as many of the key players on the Pens are slated to be UFA or RFA, such as MAF, Malkin, Stall.

Not too sure if Pens can afford to keep them and not sure how much "sidney discount" these guys are willing to take to be part of a dynasty.

The Wings have pretty much been a dynasty for the last 11 years. BUT, I remember those other years (the pre-Yzerman days) when I would secretly listen to the old Dead Wings on WJR radio after bedtime in the evenings. Y'all remember John Ogrodnik and Gilles Gilbert, probably not. Those were some pretty bad years. Every single night, the Wings would be pulling the goaltender...that tells the story.

i was soooooooooooo happy wednesday night! i stayed up and watched all of the coverage i could on all the local tv station.

i went to the parade yesterday. it was bananas. still suffering a litltle heat exhaustion, but it's all good! it was so awesome being 3 feet away from these guys! seeing them roll down the streets just really appreciating the fans and everything was really awesome. when Osgood came everyone was chanting "ozzie!ozzie!" can you imagine 1.4 million people saying your name? crazy. it kind of brought a tear to my eye. just really appreciating what he did this season. he's incredible.

and yes, Zetterberg's hot girlfriend was there! haha

i left before the rally. we couldn't find anywhere to stand and i felt like i was going to pass out. we made it back to the car in time to hear it on the radio. it was only about 15 minutes long, so i was kind of glad we didn't stay and we beat all the traffic! haha

today i'm recovering from sun burn and the dehydration, but i really don't care. yesterday was amazing and i will remember it for the rest of my life. the only thing that ruined it was my husband didn't come with me, and i felt bad going without him, but hopefully he can go next year!

i took some decent pics. i plan on putting them on my myspace. i'll link you guys when i get them up

They will be able to afford it.
Thanks to the owner of the team Mario Lemieux (The best player the NHL has ever had) push for new ice many more ticket sales will come which =$$$$$$$.
Pengs will be fine...Malkin on the either hand hmm I know hes young but come on..he played like crap against wings which in my opinion caused are loss. Are go0d things to come from Malkin in the future ? hold onto him with big money? hmm a nice hit from Flyers series screwd his skate which seems pretty wimpy to me .
Congrats to wings once more. You guys flustered a young team that took it 6.
