Kieślowski's Three Colors Trilogy is up and available for viewing until June 30th. I've never seen them, but I know they're classics. Can't wait to dive into Blue with one of my favorites, Juliette Binoche!

Blue (1993)

White (1994)

Red (1994)

Enjoy!

When asked what my favorite film ever is, I vacillate between "Contempt" and "Red" but I usually end up choosing "Contempt."

However, if I could count this trilogy as one film, the decision would be a no-brainer. Kieslowski was a genius, and this is his masterpiece and one of the great works of art in any medium in the 20th century.

I see you can watch for free on your computer:

I don't see a way to watch for free on my TV. I have Cox Phoenix & the On Demand channel (1) has a free zone & TCM is not on it, I also checked the various pay areas of On Demand & still don't see TCM listed. I do get TCM channel in HD & can watch whatever they have scheduled, when they air it but, not On Demand.

What am I missing?

Stanley Kubrick's Paths of Glory (1957) is up for streaming. Just thought I'd let everyone know if they were on the fence about getting the Criterion during this B&N sale.

Here's the Criterion synopsis:
[Show spoiler]Stanley Kubrick’s Paths of Glory is among the most powerful antiwar films ever made. A fiery Kirk Douglas stars as a World War I French colonel who goes head-to-head with the army’s ruthless top brass when his men are accused of cowardice after being unable to carry out an impossible mission. This haunting, exquisitely photographed dissection of the military machine in all its absurdity and capacity for dehumanization (a theme Kubrick would continue to explore throughout his career) is assembled with its legendary director’s customary precision, from its tense trench warfare sequences to its gripping courtroom climax to its ravaging final scene.

Some great documentaries on Criterion were put up yesterday as well:

TCM just added The Night of the Hunter last night, and what a film. Watched it for the first time yesterday and really loved it. Robert Mitchum plays such a creepy, dark character and when he would sing, the hair on the back of my neck would stand up. So creepy.

The visuals and scene construction are brilliantly done with many shots being frameable images. Just gorgeous and highly recommended. A very unsettling, tense thriller.
