Not likely as it seems they are destined to be DVD only. This article is about ALL the Universal horrors coming up on a DVD set.. A 30 disc set !

The slipcovers are pretty sweet on these too! Universal knows that these titles will continue to sell. But hopefully they'll tap into some other titles soon.

DVD only? Really in this day and age? What a mishap, we would've been eating this up had it been also a blu-ray release. This appears to be the artwork -

The fact that the set is DVD only is so disheartening...I got really excited when Universal tweeted it was coming...Hate seeing it being only on DVD.

It's definitely disappointing but at this point in DVD's lifespan we started seeing a lot of shovelware. The good news - such that it is - is that studios still seem pretty reluctant to go that route.

Still, yeah...

Can we even trust Universal, that lets say we buy this, that they won't go ahead with a blu-ray release? I'm trying to KILL my DVD collection. I only have DVD's because there is no blu-ray version I can get yet! Why does Universal see more value in DVD than blu-ray?

I have the collection from 2012 and I am very satisfied with it, on the other hand I wish I had been able to buy the few that I absolutely love. I can't complain though, I managed to get mine between $30-$32 dollars last holiday season.

The color artwork would make for some fantastic looking glossy steelbooks.

I don't have the Box Set. And I'm weary about getting these new editions. I want them (and the sequels whebever Universal decides to do those on blu-ray!!!!!) But I'm scared to buy them now and this time next year they start releasing Legacy sets or something.

This set even includes, Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein, meet The Invisible Man, and meet the Mummy. WOW, this would have made one hell of a blu-ray release. Perhaps this set will be released again at a later date for blu-ray. By the way, did anyone else notice that there is an email address for a contact at Universal Studios Home Entertainment, hint hint !
