Which goes to show that the studio MAY have done quite well if they had released it themselves.

I still am surprised that certain other popular Academy Award winners have gone to TT. But then many of those haven't sold out yet. "As Good As It Gets", "Oliver!"

Bah...missed out on Thunderbolt & Lightfoot. The only TT release I don't have already that I really wanted. Anyone have a copy they are willing to part with? Wouldn't have to be sealed but would prefer excellent condition.

I have brand new TT's of The Driver or Body Double. I would be willing to trade either for T&L. PM me if you have any interest.

Probably because they weren't including extras on their Blu-rays then. I know that stopped me from buying a few of their barebones releases knowing one day they will get a proper release. The only Blu I bought missing extras was Night of the Living Dead just because I'm a huge fan of the film. Movies like As Good As It Gets though I can wait for a better release.

No, there's been no further indications of what that other studio is. It seemed to me that the most popular theory is Universal. It's highly unlikely that it'll be the MGM titles owned by Warner. Warner really doesn't like sharing their toys.

My off-the-beaten-path wish is that it's Lionsgate, because:

(a) There are several catalog titles of theirs that deserve to be released on Blu-ray that Lionsgate doesn't seem to be in a hurry to upgrade, and which would fit into TT's wheelhouse. L.A. Story, for example.

(b) Maybe TT could sub-license some of the StudioCanal catalog titles that Lionsgate is sitting on.

Funny thing is that its not that great...we thought it was cheesy back in 85 when we saw it at the theater.....funny how people now are paying big bucks for a film that should be in the 7.99 bargain bin at Best Buy or Scuz Mart.

It was a low budget B flick back in 85. It was a fun little film but was not considered great, outstanding or anything else back in 85. Maybe my ill-formed opinion is because I am looking at it from a different perspective. There are a lot of films this message board seems to think are classics that make me scratch my head because at the time they were far from it. Which makes me wonder if people who saw Casablanca in the theater back in 43 think it was a classic or just an ok film? Would love to see some real polls with age/ generational breakdowns with regards to how a film is perceived. For me the only films from the era that I have lived in that I consider classics are films that were classics from the moment the theater lights came on like Raiders, Blade Runner, E.T. etc...

but back to TT releases it's amazing that a film like Sleepless in Seattle which is regarded as the chick flick of the 90's has not sold 3,000 copies so just who are buying these 3,000 copies of these films? I would guess 80% are on this message board. :P

Even with Tom Holland's signature, a brand new, but not wrapped barebones copy of "Fright Night" really isn't worth the $350 'buy it now' price. I don't picture Tom Holland fetching anymore than $25 tops for an autograph that may or may not also include a photograph with the man himself at horror conventions, so I wonder how they came to the price they are at.

Damn, this is kinda embarrassing now.

I do need some more De Palma in my collection though, so I'll order Body Double and The Fury instead. Maybe some Sinbad because people been saying the special effects are classic. Thanks for the help, guys!
