Subtitled is the way Gibson made it for the theaters. Like the "Jesus" movie before it that was all in Latin if memory serves. Whether the DVD gives you a dubbed version is questionable. I actually prefer 98% of subtitled films that way. To me, dubbed versions lose a LOT in inflections and many times adults try and dub a kids voice which is aggrivating. Yeah, subtitles if they flash too quickly like on District 13 can get on your nerves because you feel like the whole time is spent reading and not seeing the picture but so many subtitled films in my opinion beat the crap out of the North American versions.

It's kinda like black and white films... many people wont watch a B&W movie because they don't see any point in having a color display if that's what they end up doing but I say you're missing out on some incredible films by not seeing B&W or subtitled flicks. just one dudes opinion.
