I bet that's the release month of Lord of Illusions too.

Two discs of limited, exclusive content, including the WB version? Not exactly $50 bucks worth, but maybe $20.
Honestly when I clicked it to order that one, I figured it would set me back about 50. But I can't swing 80 bucks for one item.

What a month September and October are going to be with these releases. I have to admit $79.99 is very expensive for the Nightbreed LE but the fact that it'll include the theatrical version has me slightly sold even if the Director's Cut is the superior version, plus the third disc of bonus features.

Just thought I'd throw this up there... this is in response to people on facebook questioning the $80 price tag...

John Smith: ...Not only that but they're taking cues from Twilight Time by limiting it to a certain amount of copies. There's a reason no one likes Twilight Time.

Scream Factory: Our best answer here: We are not taking "cues" from Twilight Time. The only way we were able to sub-license the theatrical version from Warner Bros was to agree to a set number of units sold and that it would be included in a set and not as a standalone. Also, the cost of re-transferring all of the lost footage was extremely expensive to do.
I'm really torn on this one. This would be a blind buy for me, but so many people like the film that I already knew I was going to purchase it. However I also don't like worrying that I'll miss out on the theatrical cut. An $80 blind buy is really a gamble though, especially with the already full fall schedule. I fully understand why Scream is releasing this at the price they are, but man of man I just don't know what I want to do right now.

I'd bet just about anything I own on this being available for quite some time. 5000 copies at $80 a pop pretty much guarantees these will be around for awhile. Unless you're worried about not getting a poster, then who knows. Either way, they're not going to blow through all 5000 copies of the LE when there is a much cheaper release available with the only difference being that it's missing the theatrical cut.

Don't just blind buy it... Trust me. I can PM you a link to the theatrical on YouTube, but I'll have to see if it still works.

EDIT: Video no longer plays in the U.S.

So I ordered Day of the Dead and Terror Train from Shout last Friday from the Summer of Fear sale and they still haven't even shipped them. Is this normal of them?

nah, i don't need the poster... yeah, i didnt think about the price tag... that may relegate it to staying around longer.

I was all about the limited edition until I saw the price. Hopefully it makes a drop when it goes up on Amazon.

Haha ok. I appreciate the honesty. Had this came out in early spring, I'd probably have jumped on the Limited set regardless, but with so much other fun stuff in the pipeline I may take my own advice and use a wait and see approach before deciding on the version I pickup.

I'm going to pass on the Limited Edition. I'll just keep my DVD copy of Nightbreed in case I don't like the Director's Cut.

I think the third Blu-ray disc with lots of extras is also exclusive to the LE 3 disc set. I have never imported a US disc before but I may have to make an exception in this case.

I would love the limited edition, but I am with you $80.00 is out of my reach with Christmas coming. I have to buy gifts for my family, so I will have to pass unless Amazon offers it for a lower price.. I will get the special addition for sure.. I got the Halloween limited edition, plus I need to get Sleepaway Camp, The Final Terror, and a few others...

I would think some site will have it for around the usual 40% off SRP, which would be about $48.

This brings up an interesting question in my head: Would people pay $79.99 for a limited edtion of Fright Night Part 2?

First are we talking the original or the new one? If I had the money I would pay $79.99 for the original one for sure. The new one I wouldn't spring for at that price.. The new one was all right, but not worth $79.99 that is for sure. That is just my opinion though....

I read a post on FB that Tales from the Crypt/Vault of Horror are planned before Halloween so I would guess that would be an October release (maybe September ?)
