I'll buy the regular release or wait and see if the limited edition is seriously discounted at some point. No way I'm paying $80 for a nightbreed blu ray. I might have been tempted at $50 but I can't justify it. I am happy for all the big fans of the movie.

As another poster mentioned screams track record with high quality blu rays is the rather large elephant in the room here. I love a lot of the titles scream gets but the same problems with every release is just inexcusable at this point. It would be much easier to plunck down the $80 if scream had a better track record.

I'll stick with the regular directors cut. It would be nice to have both versions on blu but I hope the directors cut far outshines the theatrical and there will be no reason to watch it after this release. It does kind of suck that the limited edition is getting exclusive bonus features.

I love horror movies and all, but $80... I'm torn. I don't know what to do. I make a lot of money, but some part of me is saying "that's stupid," while the other side is telling me to "buy it because you love it and it'll be gone..." Ughhhhh. Damn it haha

I'll just get the regular version. I just can't justify $80 for one movie.

I think the Nightbreed poster is limited to the 1,000 that are numbered and are coming two weeks earlier than street date directly from Shout! Factory. Any collectible is really only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it anyway.

I don't really care about Shout! posters but I did go in for the Halloween lithograph because at the time it was only a few dollars more than getting it with no lithograph from Amazon. Now I am just hoping it does not arrive folded like the other Shout! posters I have gotten.

Not going to pay $80 for the 3 disk set. Not paying anything for the two disk set if it is missing any extras.

Been waiting a decade at least for this but the price point on three disk set is too obscene .

Yeah...I just can't do it. $80+ for one movie? As much as I love it, I'll pass and wait for the regular edition to drop in price a bit.

The "two disk set" isn't a two disk set, it's simply a dual format set with a single Blu-ray. With the LE you're getting two additional Blu-rays with supplements, plus a booklet.

I'm sure the cost of bringing it to life was more obscene. I'll enjoy the fruits of that labor, I'm sorry you won't.

Ha, we all thought the Demons releases were expensive at $50 each, and now we're going up to $80! In both cases, the justification was a lot of expense went into the restoration. Well, can't really argue with that, but I think this trend is going to continue, especially if people actually buy them and they sell out (as Demons is very close to doing). I actually think this LE will sell pretty quickly, just based on Clive Barker fans as well as the horror fanbase for this film. Just the 1000 copies on Shout's site will garner them $80,000 in profit directly into their coffers. Not too shabby. And I contributed!

When I got the email notification from Shout!, I read and reread the differences between the 2 sets and finally decided that my money and support had to go to the $80 Limited Edition set.

October can't get here soon enough.

Wow. Isn't that extortion? Going for the normal release. Have the theatrical on DVD and doubt I'd watch it over the directors cut, if I have both.

Anyone know when/if amazon will have this to order?

And I bet part of the deal they made with Warner is that Warner will also issue their own Blu of the theatrical cut, probably through the Archives, as they own it, of course. There's no way that Scream will have an exclusive Blu of that theatrical cut forever. I can see it being announced by Warner around the same time or shortly after this set comes out.

I feel the same way...the only thing I'm sad about is the extras. I'll have to live without them, I guess.

I'm almost curious if a company like Diabolik DVD would end up buying some copies to sell. I believe they ship over seas.

also I wonder if US Amazon will put up pre-orders soon? From the press release info it doesn't state you can only order the 3 Disc Limited direct from Shout.

I want to try to nab the Amazon pre-order as soon as it goes up. Esp if they list it at a discounted price.

Man I am really disappointed by all of the complaining about the $80 price point. I would've thought the real fans of this movie wouldn't have even blinked at that cost considering all the hard work it took to get to this point. Shame on you guys!

Not to mention, guys it's only $80, is that really going to break the bank! I mean you have until October to pay for it, it wouldn't be too hard to just save for it.

After much back and forth with myself I decided it's only money and do want the LE, so hopefully I timed my order right to get #666.

It's not just the theater cut and extras that sold it, the artwork is much better IMO, and I like books and slipcases. Now Shout!, please don't **** this one up!
