Last I heard, the print with the alternate scenes was misplaced following mastering of the laserdisc and Fox was unable to locate it. Not sure if that's changed or not, but I'd love to have the British cut with less of Pat Boone's singing, for the sake of showing the film to friends of this day and age.

Given the way Fox has been treating their CinemaScope titles lately, I'm scared that this 'restoration' will have an ugly bluish look not authentic to original release, like the BDs of Carousel and The King and I suffer from (which has been oh so heavily discussed lately). I really hope they get it right, because I didn't buy the first release.

Regardless, I am absolutely psyched for this release and will be preordering it on day one of the pre-order period. I won't miss it this time!

I'm surprised they bumped this up to 5000, I guess since this is a new 4k transfer more people will want it.

Ordered this along with First Men in the Moon and Solomon and Sheba.
I usually buy after I read reviews, but couldn't risk it now..
I hope the transfers are good and problem-free.

I had missed out the last time this was on offer, so what the heck, I've just placed an order. Sounds like this new release will be of higher quality than the previous blu-ray; am looking forward to hearing the audio commentary also.

Journey to the Center of the Earth, First Men In the Moon and Solomon and Sheba are my order!

It also means I'm done until May when Hombre, A Man For All Seasons and Mississippi Burning are on their schedule....

Dammit, I can't order anything from Screen Archives, there's some kind of security certificate nonsense preventing me from checking out. Will have to try again tomorrow on a different computer.

did you see the buttons on top which say about registered email or continue without (will not replace if lost) or something?
it's easy to miss, and in that way you can't continue checking out.
