just read that twilight time are reeissuing Fright Night with Features, so does this mean that sony have relaxed their stance on no extras and now scream my start licensing titles from them, rights isn't my standpoint but could be possible.

Hopefully Scream can grab some bigger titles from Sony now, like The Tingler and Candyman for Collector's Editions, as well as some regular editons of Piranha II: The Spawning and Texas Chainsaw Masscare: Next Generation.

I want someone to release Butterflies Are Free with Goldie Hawn. But that's defnitey not horror lol

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I was hoping they would let the rights lapse. I'm sure it will be another limited edition at the low low price of $89.95.

It will be another 3000 units next year and they are hinting at an upgrade, such as extras. TT will have Fright Night for the foreseeable future - some people will probably pass on the new release if they are happy with the one they bought already.

This news about Fright Night really irritates me. It is basically my favorite horror movie of all-time, and it is going to be once again limited to 3,000 copies at an outrageous price. Does Twilight Time not understand the popularity of this movie? I would understand if it was just some obscure low budget horror flick from the 80's but it's not. It's a freakin classic of the vampire genre that in my opinion has no equal.

Agree with all that. maybe it will be 5000 like The Blob, in fact i bet every horror release they do will be 5000 from now on.

Sony will be releasing it in September in Europe so you could always import one of those versions.

forgive me for sounding like an idiot, but i'm kinda of curious how this business works, and trying to understand the technical terminology.

when shout gets a master from MGM/FOX whoever, that they don't do them self (like say prince of darkness i think), does that mean that universal just sent them a digital lossless copy and they download it from the cloud or whatever, do color timing or whatever they feel needs to be done to spit shine it? or does the studio lend them the actual film reels to make a transfer?

the reason i ask is because like sleepaway camp (which i found the featurette on the transfer really exciting. would love to see more featurettes on the technical behind the scenes at shout, and other studios, after the film is complete. like the disc authoring process, new transfers, clean ups, and such), day of the dead, the final terror, movies like these, it is visibly advertised "we did a brand new scan of the film. blah blah blah" and then there are titles where they are saying "due to budgetary reasons we just had to use the master's that the studio sent us"

so what is the difference? what is a "master" in this case? is it still a reel of film? or is it a digital lossless copy that the studio sends them?

if its a reel, then shouldn't every single movie boast "we did a new scan"?? or is there different levels and degrees of scans and such?

i'm asking because i alwasy just assumed that anytime a movie was released, be it by the studio, or a licensee, there was just a brand new scan of the OCN that was done. but after spending more time on this thread, and reading from cliff's responses, and such, it seems that may not bee the case.

Vote on the polls, to help companies show what titles you want them to release for us, keep on spreading the word and vote, also Today is my birthday, and this would be a nice way of saying Happy birthday, , :P, thank you

Does anybody have Ginger Snaps yet? I know it hasn't been released but was hoping somebody would have gotten their copy early.

Should have mine next Thursday. I'd think reviews would start popping up places this week.

I will definitely be picking up Ginger Snaps in the very near future. However, I am still a bit disappointed that Katharine Isabelle did not participate in the special features.

What size tv are you using and how close do you sit?

The only thing I ever heard was that no one could get in contact with her or her team. Maybe someone else knows the reason. This Scream Factory release just feels a little empty without her presence.

Scream said they reached out to her camp multiple times but didn't get a response.
