United Kingdom Boyhood (Richard Linklater)

Boyhood Blu-ray

Street date: November 3rd.

Quote:
Groundbreaking drama directed by Richard Linklater and starring Patricia Arquette and Ethan Hawke. Filmed over a period of 12 years with the same cast members, the film begins as Olivia (Arquette) moves to Houston, Texas, with her son Mason (Ellar Coltrane) and daughter Samantha (Lorelei Linklater) after the disintegration of her marriage to the children's father (Hawke). From then on we follow Mason as he progresses from a child to a young man while dealing with his parents divorce and the numerous other difficulties of growing up.

I'd love to see a Criterion for this, but if not then ah well, I can get over it

Watching this on Sunday at my local Picturehouse, been looking forward to it for ages (though not nearly as long as Linklater's been making it).

Yeah I didn't actually know he'd gone through with it until a couple of years ago. Thought it was just an idea he was trying out but didn't think he was actually producing a fully formed end product! So pleased. Looking forward to it.

It just shows how dedicated a director Linklater is, to film this over a 12 year period. Can't wait to see it.

Just got back from seeing this (Everyman Cinemas get it a week early it seems). Absolutely wonderful film, with a deep emotional core to it most reminiscent of the Before films but also even touches on the conversational personality of Waking Life and obviously harks back to Dazed & Confused at points too. A brilliant achievement and definitely one of the films of the year. Another daring piece of cinema from Richard Linklater.

Seen it. Loved it. Day one.

Hopefully there will be enough interest in this film for someone to produce a Before Trilogy Box Set.

I really want Slacker on a UK friendly blu ray, that's my favourite Linklater movie.

The criterion is truly amazing, it's my favourite out of the ones I own, having said that I only have 11 :')

Probably listed too soon, I can't see Universal denying this a Blu release.

They better not pull a Before Midnight on us like Sony did! I'd be furious.

Great film, probably watch it again next week when it's on at work. Hope that the artwork changes though, not into that title typeface. I'm assuming there will be some interesting behind the scenes footage from this too.
