If only more labels cared as little as Shout did....

We aren't talking about a full movie. We're talking about a couple to several scenes. I'm sorry, but I've done audio work in the past. I've made a couple low budget films. If they have the equipment to do interviews/commentaries, then they should be able to do this. I'm sure they have most of the actors already coming in for interviews.... The only tricky part would be matching the quality to the rest of the film, but I think we can all agree that would be preferred over sub titles. Taking the audio from a VHS copy of something for a Blu-Ray is unforgivable. Especially when it doesn't have to be that way. Shout should have just spent more time on this. I truly believe Cliff would have been 100% fine with just releasing the VHS rip on Blu-Ray..... They don't care about quality. They need to realize low quality reduce sales.
Once again it would be easy finding an audio engineer that would work on this for pennies. They just don't want to do it....... Probably for a 2nd release down the road.

Just about every word of this is nonsense.

I'm not really sure. I've never placed a lengthy pre-order with them before.

Their reputation is.... inconsistent. For a good deal I would order from them, but for a limited edition like this, I'm paying a few dollars more and sticking with Amazon.

Thanks, you're probably right. I'm taking a chance on the deluxe Halloween with that coupon code, and a lot of Scream Factory pre-order stuff. Still no Prom Night available, unfortunately.

While I agree they should be utilizing the sound that they have access to, nothing much is going to negatively affect the sales of this release. It's made for a limited audience that has a voracious appetite for it. I know I would have purchased the Cabal Cut VHS version, no questions asked.

That being said, I still find it bewildering that they would use the crappy audio from that VHS in conjunction with the original camera negatives. If the sound is already as wonky as people who have seen the Cabal Cut say it is, the lack of effort put into utilizing the original audio elements available to them is disappointing. There's only so much sprucing up you can do to that VHS audio until it sounds like tinny, metallic shit.

No. Someone is spreading FUD about this on another thread. They will charge up front though. I've also had slipcases battered from them because of how they package...best to spend a little bit more and just order from Amazon on something like this.

Barnes & Noble has the LE for $55.67, the posting states DVD but the UPC is for the blu-ray. Not sure if you can use coupons on this, but those interested on saving more money might want to check it out. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/dvd-...n=826663152869

Does Barnes and Noble put a temp charge on your credit card when you place an order? Also how easy is it to cancel an order from them?

The only pre-order I've done is thru Paypal and it went right thru. I've never cancelled anything from them, but it looks to be easy as long as the package isn't ready to ship.

Someone who's used a cc for a pre-order and has cancelled should be able to be more helpful than me.

I ordered a few weeks ago. I think there was a temp charge. It's pretty easy to cancel, though.

I would not order from Barnes & Noble. They are notorious for canceling Criterion 50% off sale orders I LOVE Barnes & Noble buying in stores for sales etc... I would just say go with Shout / Diabolik / Amazon for this title. Take no chances.

I don't trust Best Buy or Barnes with selling this title. Furtermore how many other retailers are getting this title! I mean if it is such a hot Amazon seller I'm trying to wrap my head around which retailers get how many copies lol.

I ordered from DVDPacific just in case, but I doubt they'll get any in, or not enouch to fulfill my order.
If not, I have my Amazon.com order in from a few days ago.

What if only 5,000 are numbered copies but Shout producing more copies that aren't numbered?

I thought about that but thru WB they can't do any more on the theatrical edition that is part of their contract with them. It just seems insane how many other retailers are listing this title. I never imagined it would go beyond Diabolik and amazon. I just don't trust Best Buy and Barnes on a title like this. Also people complain about their shipping packaging Sometimes Barnes just uses plastic! I just say if you are on these message boards order caustiously and safely. I would go with SHOUT, Diabolik, or Amazon.
