Is it really? That's some terrible poster art.

You're right. I guess I always associate this film with the oversized 3D embossed VHS cover.

The next releases are:

Phenomena
Demons/ Demons 2 Double Feature
The Bird With The Crystal Plumage

Will be interested to see which transfers for are used for the last two. I'm guessing VCI for Bird, and Arrow for Demons.

I think it was said that Demons was 1 disc too.....

No guys, I'm certainly not a spanner. I just hope it doesn't come off like I am. I was just wanting to share our article relating to their upcoming releases.
Cheers

Just now from Cinema Cult's facebook page re: Demons releases:

"Some of you have read that we will be releasing Demons 1 & 2. Unfortunately we will not be releasing the Demons films at this stage as there’s a rights issue that we are working through. The Demons films are on hold indefinitely until such a time that a rights issue can be resolved."

Hopefully they can work out whatever it is that's holding these up.

That's a shame. Maybe Umbrella have rights still(as they released all of Dario's stuff down under on dvd)

You can always grab the Arrow video releases (the probable source for the Cinema Cult release anyway)

We pretty much covered the entire cinema cult range in our podcast. We announced the 'upcoming' titles, so its a shame to hear about the Demons delay.

Greetings cult cinema enthusiasts! It is with regret that I inform you that we will no longer be releasing Braindead at this point in time. Although we had licensed the film in good faith and were all set to go in to production, a rights issue has popped up that prevents us from moving forward. Apologies for any inconvenience caused and stay tuned for more news surrounding other quality releases coming your way soon.

I already have Demons, but I sold Dead Alive in anticipation of this release. Wonder what is going on with their rights issues?

Why announce if it's not 100% certain? It's a sure fire way to create some brand backlash

From their Facebook page
Before Pete O'Herne passed away, he mentioned that Peter Jackson had bought back distribution rights to Bad Taste for NZ (maybe AUS too), so maybe it's the same for Braindead and Meet The Feebles?

Arrow Video said last year that Wingnut, Jackson's company, intend to do lavish restorations on those 3, but only once they're finished with the Hobbit, so hopefully next year or after

I've recently got into importing and it looks like I'll have to start purchasing some of these Cinema Cult releases. Maniac and The Burning look particularly tempting (I still haven't seen the former and the only edition I've got of The Burning is a censored DVD).
