Even the use of a RED camera wouldn't cost them that. I don't know for sure, but I still guessing college interns, or someone on a small salary.

Sure, using high level professionals could cost a pretty penny. I didn't suggest they do that. I suggested they do it themselves, or find people willing to help for a credit. For you to tell me nobody in the film/art community would be willing to help without a ton of cash is ridiculous.
I have many friends with film/art/graphic/photography degree's, and steady work for them is incredibly difficult. Some of that is based on location. Many work minimum wage jobs. If you're getting paid $5,000 per wedding I hope you're doing that for a living.

Yes, many recording studios are now recording songs for $50-$100. This is why I know you don't know what you're talking about.
In 2009 HALF of all recording studios in CA closed. More have closed since then. People are preferring to record stuff at home. You can put a pretty nice setup together for less than a couple thousand. MOST albums now are actually recorded in someone house. There is less collaboration. Everyone is doing everything separately from the comfort of their own home. Only the really large artists still go to an actual studio.

I kind of want to start a paypal fund for you, because I sympathize with being a huge fan of a film and missing out on a limited run (fright night).

truly hard to tell at this point, but it will be interesting to see how it all pans out. I think the big factor will be people seeking out that special feature disc, aka the die hards.

Perhaps life isn't fair, but neither is rubbing others people's nose in your own good fortune, correct? If you bought this, I would assume you are a fan, and thus you are well aware of how long you have waited for this opportunity yourself. I'm well aware there is a standard release, but if you bought the limited one, it's because you didn't want to settle either. True, sometimes compromises are necessary in life, part of being an adult. "Mocking" others because you happen to be better off in a given time really isn't (mostly directed towards the latter comment). Circustances can always change for anyone. I know I can be pretty sarcastic, but this seemed a bit excessive.
Okay, bring on the flames. I'm just saying, if a few people just took a small bite out of their own comfort and satisfaction to help a bit, rather than imply that he hasn't learned enough "hard lessons"... You know that much about his prior circumstances?
Anyone here with me? Anyone? Believe me, I'm not rich myself.

Whenever people throw out that, "Everyone who would have wanted it would have bought it by now" argument, it makes me snicker. There's always a lot more people out there that never knew of a release or weren't aware of a LE during the 1-week it was on sale, because their whole life doesn't revolve around this forum, or they just got into Blu-Ray, or whatever other reason. Just stay tuned on this thread to see the months and months of complaints from the people who missed out on this set and who will b*tch about all the scalpers, rag on Shout for limiting it to begin with, and all the usual crap. Guaranteed.

To be fair, this is only sold out on Amazon. There's no reason to sh*t one's pants yet cuz Shout still has it for sale on their site. I am just worried that sudden panic will make the LE more valuable than it should be.

Yeah.... but as one of the biggest E-Tailers there is for Movies... I can imagine they got a sizeable chunk of what was left of the 2,700 after Shout Factory claimed 2,300 for their website. Best Buy still has it available for order. As do a few other E-Tailers. I can't imagine it lasting very long after Amazon blew through their bunch.

True, only time will tell though. I personally could care less whether it goes for $20 or $400, I only ordered one and plan to keep it.

I would be happy with the theatrical cut because I don't have to worry about the bad quality if any of the Director's Cut.

A couple of other people on here expressed some interest in helping, as well as I. I know what it's been like waiting for Fright Night to be re-released. This one the other hand, who knows? If you need a bit of help and didn't mind, if we could get a few people to chip in while it's still available, that would be great.

Considering how fast it's sold already, I imagine a lot of folks who wanted to own it missed out. Especially those that may not religiously check sites. Look how quickly these have sold.

Hellraiser really is a perfect film for SCREAM to acquire rights to. But can they do much better than the already released ANCHOR BAY edition?
As for the entire collection, I wouldn't want to shell out any money for 5-8 and definitely the REVELATIONS.

Now if they did 1-4....I would be all about it.

Well it's still available at Shout, Diabolik, best buy, ... Amazon had the best price so logical for it to sell out first there. Also, I wonder how many people canceled their order at Shout?

Man even though i have the LE version pre ordered, i am still kinda iffy about ordering it because of the price. It is hard justifying paying that much for 1 single film and it doesn't even come in a steelbook format, just a cool looking slip cover.

I might cancel it and order standard version, not only will i be saving money but with the remaining amount i can purchase at least 1 or 2 other blu ray movies too.

Any thoughts anyone?

Here is a thought, make up your own mind about something so trivial without consulting a forum
