Well, I've had items arrive in perfect condition in those types of mailers, and I've had items arrive smashed into pieces in a heavy cardboard mailer, it really just depends on how it's handled during transit. The more protection, the better usually, but that never really guarantees anything. With blu-ray cases especially, it's more about the amount of weight stacked on top of it or if it gets stepped on or something. Unfortunately, most companies these days use that thin card board vacuum sealed packaging, like deepdiscount, b&N, dvdplanet, etc.

I just hope one of two I ordered (1 from Amazon, 1 from blowitoutahere) arrives in good shape.

Why are you so easily swayed by one complaint? I've ordered from their ebay store plenty of times and I always get items in those sticky cardboard mailers, never had a broken or crushed case. They ship to Canada within a week and they have good shipping rates.

Why am I swayed, because of a bad review on here mean's a lot more than a review on the interwebs. Plus if a company is willing to ship a blu in a bag with no padding would you buy from them regardless of how other items have been shipped? I wouldn't take that chance.

Very few companies ship individual blu-rays in a padded mailer, amazon is the only one that comes to mind actually (and I've had my fair share of broken causes from them still because the mailer is usually huge and the case is allowed to move around too much). If I limited myself to only buying from Amazon and not taking some chances with packaging or shipping speed, I would hardly ever get a good deal.

And that's coming from an Amazon Prime subscriber going on three years now.

I guess I have had better luck, Best Buy always ships mine in a box as well as Amazon or a padded mailer if not box, Scream did ship mine in the cardboard flat thingy once but most time my orders are more than one movie from Scream so its in a box.

I just never heard of a bag, maybe my image of a bag is wrong. I'm thinking like a Kroger type bag sealed up LOL.

But...I just gave it a positive review, and can vouch that I never received blu-rays in an unpadded bag. I took the chance, I walked the line, I swam with sharks and ran through fire. Blus are what I ordered from them.
So now there is one positive and one negative. Which do you choose?

Lol, yeah, it's a little better than that.

It's like a thick, white mylar plastic. Think of a white weatherproof mylar bubble mailer, without the bubbles inside.

I used to get them all the time from Gohastings.com and a few times from deepdiscount and DVDPlanet.

I wish more companies would use tight fitting bubble mailers, but with shipping increasing all the time, they cut corners to keep the shipping from being outrageous I guess.

LOL I posted just as you did about my image of a Kroger type bag. Swimming with sharks and running through fire, you my friend are too cool to own the 3 disc set you should own the special set with the original reels included. I sent you a friend request on here as your post ranks high in awesomeness.

You probably aren't thinking of it wrong, they are crappy when companies do you use them. It's a "thick" plastic (not like a grocery bag), but there is no padding at all. Moviemars used to shipe me dvds in those - years ago. I don't know if they still do, but they are awful..

Edit: yah what the other dude said - who described it to you before I did.

Haven't used this place before but am about to place an epic order to the point I've been told I can't add any more items to the card, ha.
I ordered Cannibal Holocaust from Blowitoutahere. They shipped it in a mailer with no padding and it was dented on most of the sides. I couldn't exchange it since they had no copies left. It was the best price, but I won't buy from them again.

I just received my first blowitoutahere order (cannibal holocaust) and it is pretty much just a bag, maybe more like a white sealed Glad bag than a Kroger bag. I feel it is pretty much just luck if it arrives mint. Of coruse having said that mine did.

I am hesitant to place a pre order for Nightbreed from blowitoutahere because it seems like they don't actually fulfill them sometimes. I recently pre-ordered three new release as soon as they were listed yet they were back ordered on the day of release. Isn't the whole point of a pre order that you secure an order?!

It makes me think of that Seinfeld episode where Jerry goes to a car rental place to discover that his car is actually not available despite having a reservation. "Blowitoutahere knows how to take the pre order, but they just don't know how to hold the pre order. And that really is the most important part of the pre order."

Hm strange. Maybe they send it in thicker pakaging if it's crossing the boarder?

Yeah, that'll annoy me if that happens on all the preorders I placed this week with them. Did it take them long to send them to you when they were on back order, or are you still waiting even now? Family Video seems to take a long while when something ends up out of stock.

The movies I ordered were scheduled for release just a few days ago. I still have not received shipping notification and the site still lists them as back ordered. I just don't understand...shouldn't my pre order have secured copies?

As much as I love Family Video, when something is out of stock it takes a long time to finally get it. I ordered Evilspeak back in April and didn't get it until last week, and that is only because I saw it was back in stock and emailed them.

Yeah, I had Evilspeak preordered with Family Video too and I saw it was in stock one day, then quickly back out of stock, but I didn't receive it. I wound up canceling it and ordering for the same price with Barnes & Noble. I agree, if you preorder, you should assure yourself a copy up front. They should know by preorders how many they better have on the release date.
