Yet the revenue from 3d is increasing every year. Also the second largest market China (and likely soon to be largest market) absolutely loves 3d. The problem 3d has faced is far to many bad and unneeded conversions have been done and tvs released with horrid 3d support. We do seem like we are moving away from poor conversions though with more films being shoot in 3d for 3d and conversions generally not being terrible as they often have been in the past (or less terrible). I still don't think 3d will take of at home until glasses free becomes an affordable reality. 3d in cinemas however will remain as it is for the foreseeable future. I do think they need to drop the extra charge for viewing a film in 3d at cinemas (it will happen sooner or later I am sure) when they do that it will be interesting to note if people who have started opting for 2d over 3d start opting for 3d again.
