Default What would you rather watch? Killer Joe or Transformers 4?

I was having a discussion with my friend. these two movies are at first not very related. they are about stupid people. one movie is smarter then the other about stupid people. I was curious if others felt the same way?

I've seen Killer Joe and hated it and I have no intention to see Transformers 4, so neither.

Huh ? Obviously I'm talking about the film title not the character. I got that he is supposed to be an unlikeable character, but it was a bad film.

I know that killer joe was not for everyone. I meant the people around him in the film were stupid. it was written very smart unlike transformers.

Anything is smarter than Transformers. They are the dumbest films around.

Transformers is by no means a 'smart' film, but way better than many other films. Take Transmorphers for example, or any D movie in that case. Or Boondock Saints... plain garbage.

To answer the OP's question, Killer Joe by a mile. I didn't love the movie, but hands down I'd call it the 'smarter' movie.

Killer Joe by far. It's from the director of the French Connection of god's sake.

I quite liked Killer Joe, but I can understand that it's not for everybody. I've got a very dark sense of humour and I think it appeals to people like myself. So yeah, Killer Joe by a country mile. I've seen the first Transformers and it was just ok, but I was 22 at the time. I imagine the sequels are even worse and as bad and offensive as everyone makes out.

Strange, strange thread.

I watched both. I'm as interested in off-beat, indie films as in big Hollywood blockbusters. Killer Joe is an unsettling, provocative, nearly masterful black comedy. Loved it. Friedkin still got it. But how can it be compared to Transformers at all?
